I strode beside Sam with the same pace. Not daring say a word. I had no idea why I felt so... Funny.

Funny in a not-so funny way.

I wasn't blushing... I wasn't scared... I was... Silent.

"Sooo... Any jokes to tell?" I asked him finally trying to clear all the silence aside from the echoes of machinery winding up and of our shoes going down the hallway.

"None... I don't know what to feel anymore..." He said.

I held his hand and stopped in my tracks. He looked back at me. He didn't seem happy at all. More like, concerned. Very.

"Sam..."

"Heat? Wassup? You OK?..."

"What if I... Leave... I die?... What if I forget?... If we leave this Hearth behind, will I forget you and everyone and everything just like I forgot my past life?..." I asked him.

I felt tears slowly trickling down my face. I don't want to forget. If I have to abandon another life, I might as well die.

"Come on, you've always been my feisty, jokey, and well... Beautiful, burning, eternal flame." He said coming closer to me.

He brushed away my bangs from my face again just like before.

"I don't know how I got so close to you... Is this real?..." I asked him. "I don't know why... It feels so fast... As fast or maybe even faster than the adrenaline that used to push through me when my powers were activated."

"I don't know. I feel like you're pushing me... I don't know what to think... But I can't lose you... and Pepper."

"Sam..."

"Yeah?..."

I stared at him. He stared back at me. I sighed and gave a small smile.

"I'm glad... To know that... No." I stopped.

"What is it?" He suddenly look hurt. A bit stricken. "Are you... Breaking up with me?..."

"I- no! I... I never said that!!!"

"Then what?" He asked me.

"I... I'm... I..." I stuttered. I don't know anymore... I mean, letting this... Us... Go on, could end up with him dead. I almost lost him already... I can't lose him again... But...

"It's fine. We're done. Fine with me. See you in the morning." He told me. "You know your way. You're Heather right?"

"Sam I-"

But he walked away in the opposite direction.

It's Saddening...

Thank you-

To know that you haven't killed him yet!!! Do it!!! You no longer have any attachment with him!!!

The last words rang in my head... We... We're done...

I slowly strode at my own pace. Not saying a word. I felt so... Funny.

Funny in a not-so funny way.

I wasn't blushing... I wasn't scared... I was... Silent.

"No more jokes to tell?..." I told myself hearing my words echo through the halls trying to clear all the silence aside from the other echoes of machinery winding up and of my shoes going down the hallway.

"No more... The feeling is gone..." I whispered to myself again.
