Chapter 1

"Austin slow down!" My mom yelled.

"Mom it's okay." I replied.

"I know, I just, get worried." She said calming down.

My mom always gets nervous when I drive down the highway, and I mean nervous.

I'm Austin, by the way. I'm 17, and live in Miami. I live with my mom. My dad passed when I was young, so I grew up without him. So any who back to the present time. We were on our way to go get my license. I was super excited!

"What are you gonna do when a light turns yellow" She asked.

"Obviously slow down." I chuckled.

"What about when you're approaching train tra-."

"Mom I know what to do." I interrupted.

She smiled. She was always so protective of me, then again I was her only child. I was so excited for this. We were almost there. I failed my first time because I didn't "back up properly." This time I was going to pass. If felt like I was driving forever and my mom was getting more and more nervous. I thought it was kind of funny, to be honest.

As we were about to pull in the BMV, I heard a loud slam. My head jerked and hit the steering wheel, then everything turned white. My life flashed before my eyes.

I peak my eyes open and see a huge light hovering over me. I look down and see my mom in a chair next to me and a girl I didn't recognize. I look closer and realized I was in a hospital.

I see all these machines hooked up to me. The mysterious girl walked up to me. My eyes were still adjusting so I couldn't really make out her face.

"Ar-Ar-Are you okay?" She said.

"Who are you? Why am I here? What happened?" I questioned.

"You were in a bad car wreck, my mom was speeding, and we hit you from the back. I feel so bad I'm so sorry. "She replied.

I gave her a confused look.

"I came to the hospital to make sure you were okay, she, I mean we, didn't mean to hit you guys, and I just wanted to check on you. Are you feeling okay?" She spoke again.

"Yea-Yeah I guess so. I don't even remember anything. It was that bad? And it's not your fault!" I said still in shock.

"Austin my baby boy are you okay?! My wittle baby got hurt!" My mom

said sounding panicked.

"Mooooooom." I groined. "I'm fine" I said embarrassed.

My eyes finally adjusted and my eyes met the girls. Something happened that I can't explain. I stared into those deep brown eyes with a hint of a light green and a spark came over me. It felt like the whole world had stopped. It was only us. She grinned and her smile was so beautiful, SHE was beautiful. Then I had to snap back to reality.

"Well I gotta go home, have much to do, I stayed all night to make sure you were alright." Said the girl making her way through the door.

"Wait before you go, I never got your name-" I said but she was already out the door.

I sat there, stunned on what just happened. I felt a connection with someone I just met. A stranger to be honest. As a I was day dreaming I heard a voice.

"How you feeling baby?"

It was my mom.

"I'm fine mom, who was that girl?" I questioned.

"I don't know, I forget her name. She felt so bad that you got hurt, so she stayed all night in the hospital with me. Seemed like a sweet girl." She explained to me.

Yeah a sweet girl, who I needed to find and talk to again. There was such a strong connection, and I was hopping the beautiful girl and I could be friends and one day more than that. It may seem weird but I had to find her and talk to her.
