"Master, I have brought him as requested" the woman stated clearly, her short blonde hair cut perfectly. She walked towards a large dining chair, almost like a throne as she stood behind him, looking almost innocent. I could barely make out the man's features, nothing about him but his black leather pants and pale hands.
"What do you want?" I asked impatiently.
"My, my, aren't we in a rush?" he asked almost teasingly. I felt sick to my stomach, a shiver down my spine.
"Don't make me repeat myself" I snapped foolishly.
"Do you see yourself as the devil or do you see the devil inside yourself?" he asked cryptically.
"Excuse me?" I questioned.
"Do not answer my question with a question. Just answer my question. Do you see yourself as the devil or the devil inside yourself?"
"The devil within me, if we are talking about unspeakable acts of evil" I replied rudely.
He laughed, staying in his chair as he stood, watching me. He clicked his fingers and I was just stood, wondering why... wondering what he was going to do. A young woman walked out of a room to the right, sitting down on his lap as he moved her golden hair. I felt sick but at the same time, curious, too curious to watch as he plunged his fangs into her neck.
"Stop" I begged, my mind spinning with the smell of blood but he paid no attention, just kept draining. I felt sick as I watched the woman, a look that frightened me, a look of pure enjoyment. She wasn't scared; she didn't look frightened instead she just let him.
He let her go after what seemed like an eternity, just let her off him. I could see his eyes, blue like diamonds just staring at me, staring into my soul.
What was going on? Where was I? What had I gotten myself into?
"Stop trying to think up a list of questions. That will only annoy me" the man snapped.
"I don't mean to... wait. Can you hear my thoughts?"
"When you chuck them at me, of course I can" he snapped as if I had asked a seriously ridiculous question, one he'd answered a million times.
"If you've brought me here for some kind of vengeance, you're too late. I have nothing left to lose"
He chuckled, his eyes looking up at the blonde as she smiled creepily. He took a deep, unneeded breath before he said "if I wanted vengeance, I would have killed you by now. I want to offer you something"
"What is it?" I asked aggressively.
"Careful. It was that attitude that cost your family their lives. Do not look the gift horse in the mouth; just listen carefully to what I'm offering"
"I will listen and listen to the price" I snapped.
"Everything has a price. Does your price depend on it?" he questioned. As I nodded, he smiled cruelly; I could see his fangs as he slid off his throne. A man with a hair colour similar to the woman's, eyes blue like diamonds, if they were cruel as well as cold. "What I offer is power, enough power to take your revenge and possibly defend yourself. What the cost is... is your life. If you accept my gift, you will never be human again, just strong enough to kill"
"Is that all the negatives are?" I asked sarcastically.
"You will have to do something for me... if you survive it"
"What do you mean if I survive it?" I asked quickly.
"So few so young can take the blood of a vampire with age like mine and survive it. If you survive it, you will be the one I have been waiting for"
"Why are you offering this to me?"
"Not out the goodness of my heart. Once you accept my blood, if you survive the process, you'll be hated by those you fought for. As a twisted sense of irony, I want you to kill them, your brothers and sisters"
"If I reject your offer?" I questioned.
"Then good luck finding the one who turned you, the way you are going, you will need it" he replied as rudely as I had ever heard him.
"I'll take it... your offer, I'll take it. I have everything to gain and nothing to lose"
"You'll be going against everything you knew, killing the ones you once called friend"
He moved so fast, I could barely see him. He grabbed me from behind; I could feel the coldness running through me, like needles made of ice. He plunged his fangs into my shoulder, not a warning as he drained what felt like the last of my humanity. The next thing I knew, the next thing that was clear to me... was the blood, his blood.
"I was too late to stop them killing your family but you... I did all I could so you could have this moment" he whispered as I lay there, blood dripping down from mid-air, his blood before the wound healed.
I could feel his strength becoming my strength, radiating through me, strengthening my very bones. It flooded my body, like a river bursting its banks; it covered my body internally, strengthening my organs, my silent heart, even my eyes. It must have seemed like hours but it was likely a mere few minutes. I sat up, silent as the grave, my skin paler and my eyes were red until I changed them myself.
"I have waited for what seems like an eternity for a man with your strength, your will and determination to arrive. Your will to survive... it gave me hope regarding your survival"
"What are you talking about?" I asked aggressively.
"I knew it from the moment I first saw you, when you took the lives of half the vampires in their coven. I knew you were something special, stronger than the rest that have fallen into our ranks. I have watched you, from the shadows, never interfering, just observing you and I was impressed, I must admit. From that very moment, I knew you were destined to either lead us or destroy us"
"So you had them kill my family?" I questioned.
"No. Their deaths are nothing to do with me, their blood is not on my hands but I admit, I didn't expect you to survive"
"Who made me?" I asked.
"All in good time, I've given you the tools now go, take your freedom"
