Authors note: Max is being portrayed by Dylan O'Brian. Omg don't hate him though, but like he was a good image for what I saw Max looking like. I'll reveal the look of Sadie in the next part. Okay, enjoy!

"Fifteen minutes! You said fifteen minutes, it's been an hour! Hurry up, or I'm leaving your ass here!"

Sadie groaned at her boyfriends call, he needs to calm the fuck down, or she'll take another hour. It's not her fault she wanted to look nice, they were going to the Stockholm Festival. It's held every year and lasts three days. It's popular among locals, so naturally Sadie wanted to attend. She dragged her boyfriend, Max, along too. He wasn't too big on this kind of stuff, but she felt like they have drifted apart and needed to spend some time together. You see, they had a falling out earlier on....

FLASHBACK
Sadie was sitting on the couch in her apartment, watching TV. She was laughing at something that was said when she heard rattling at her door. It picked up into a heavy knocking. This panicked her, as people rarely visited her apartment, and it was quite late anyways. She quickly grabbed the vase on her coffee table, as it was the closest thing, and headed to the door. She looked out of the peephole, her hands shaking. Her nerves calmed as she saw it was just Max, drunk off his ass.

"Goddamnit, Max! It's 2 in the morning. What are you doing?"

"What do you mean? I came to see you? Because you're my girlfrienddd and I love youuu." Max trailed off, his speech as slurred as she has ever heard it.

Sadie grabbed Max's arm and pulled him into the house and sat him down in the chair. She went into the kitchen and grabbed him a glass of water.

"Here, drink this." She said with a discomforted tone. She hated when he came home drunk, he was always an ass, and tonight would be no exception.

"Hey baby come hereeeee, I want a kiss from youuuu."

Sadie could not imagine kissing him, she was practically swimming in the scent of alcohol with him sitting there.

"No, you need to drink that water."

"Baby come on," Max grabbed onto her arm and pulled her toward him, "I want you."

Sadie was scared. She tried to escape from his grip but she couldn't budge.

"Max, I said no." She said, finally yanking her arm from his grip.

"What the fuck, Sadie? You're acting like a bitch. Come here!" He yelled, jumping off the seat and reaching out to her. She fell back onto the floor in an attempt to get away from him. He was scaring her, tears started to well up into her eyes.

"Max, stop it! I said no, get away from me!"

That's when it happened. The thing that would burn in her mind. The grudge that she would hold, but try to ignore.

Max grabbed onto her arm, pulled her up off the ground, and stared at her with his cold, dead eyes.

"Don't you ever say no to me, you little bitch!"

Max lost his rage. He lifted up his hand and struck her across her face. She fell to the floor, grabbing her face. Tears were falling out of her eyes faster than she knew capable. She winced from the pain. She looked up to see the door slam shut, he was gone. She had no energy to get up, she dozed off on the floor that night.

THE DAY AFTER THE INCIDENT

Sadie woke up with a massive headache. She was confused as to why she was on the floor, then all of the memories of last night recollected into her head. She felt a sharp pain in her face. She walked to the bathroom to reveal a giant bruise right next to her eye. She winced in pain as she touched it, there was dried blood on her face. A tear streamed down her face as she looked at herself in the mirror, how could he do this? He was drunk, but did he really mean to hit her?

A few minutes later there was a knock on the door. Sadie's heart started to race, as she remember the familiar knocks from last night. She opened the door and peaked her head around it, trying to conceal her bruise. It was Max. He looked guilty.

"Hey can we talk?"

"Why would I want to talk to you?" She said, stepping out from behind the door, revealing her face to him. It was all his doing, and he knew that. He mumbled to himself when he saw it.

"Shit."

He shifted uncomfortably in the place he stood and looked at her.

"Look please give me a chance, five minutes is all I'm asking for."

Sadie looked at him, sighed, and opened up the door, signaling for him to come in. He walked to the living room and stood there waiting for Sadie to follow. He then spoke.

"Listen, I'm so sorry about last night. I had a hard day and work and I had a little too much to drink at the bar. I guess I just lost my temper and acted out. I never meant to hurt you, I promise, it'll never happen again."

Sadie looked at him. She didn't know what to say, she loved him, but she feared for her own safety now. He scared her last night. Max could tell she was skeptical.

"Come on baby, I love you and I'd never want to end what we have. You mean so much to me, don't let one little mistake ruin this."

Sadie was about to trail off in her mind again when Max's arms wrapped around her. He placed a kiss on her forehead and looked at her. She let out a small grin, unsure of what to say. She knew one thing, she didn't want things to end with Max. She hugged him back.
