The car ride home was deadly silent, his mum hasn't even looked at Phil. She pulls into their driveway, and the two just sit there.
"A lot of stars tonight." his voice is quiet as he looks up at the sky, too scared to look at his mum.
"Mhm." She hums and they both go inside. Phil is halfway up the stairs he hears,
"Fiona, I just wanted to tell you... I love you." he just nods before going to his room and closing the door behind him.
