The boy's vision blurred, the colours and light smeared together in one blobby mess. He closed his eyes shut, covering his mouth, blood spilling from his throat.

"Come on Kyle," The older, taller figure sneered, hovering over him. "Show us exactly what you mean by this 'power from hell.'"

Kyle didn't respond. He slowly tried to lift himself onto his feet, only to find his jaw throbbing, and his fade planted against the ground. Another foot made contact with his ribs. His fists clenched, mouth sealed shut to prevent himself from screaming and yelling.

The taller boy flipped him over with his foot, pressing it against Kyle's stomach, slowly putting his weight on the grounded boy. Kyle felt like he was about to throw up, but only the taste of iron and salt reached his taste buds as more blood spilled from his throat. He turned his eyes and spat at the ground. The taller figure having one foot on this stomach picked him off his feet and landed another uppercut square in the jaw, causing Kyle to stumble back.

Kyle backed into the wall, holding his chest with one hand, and his stomach with the other. His eyes felt like they were pulsing, his vision started to smear into a more crimson shade. His chest started heaving.

Before the smaller boy could make contact with the ground, there was a scream, as if someone had strangled the girl, followed by a loud thump as a girl, no bigger than the both of the boys, made a mad dash towards Kyle, grabbing a hold of him, slowing down his fall before he made contact with the ground.

"You know this monster?" The taller boy snorted, wiping his mouth.

"This monster," the black haired girl snapped, "is my brother." She sat him up gently against the wall, holding his face. Kyle's eyes were shut, causing Kaitlyn's eyes to widen. "Kyle? Kyle please wake up. Stay with me okay? Just hang on a bit longer."

Kyle didn't respond. He lay unconscious.

Kaitlyn stood up and turned to her brother's ex best friend "What the hell is wrong with you?" She growled, her fists balled up " What gives you the right to even touch him in the first place?"

He grinned coldly "That "brother" of yours killed one my parents, and hospitalized one of my friends. You think he could just get away with that? He's not normal." Kaitlyn wanted to scream so badly, but contained her anger.

"And that still gives you the right to beat the hell out of him?"

"Didn't he beat you up one time?"

Her heart stopped, her face slowly paled, and a sly smirk took place in the guy's lips

"I thought so." Kaitlyn's lips went dry at the memory.

"That's not important... He's still my brother and that still doesn't give you the right to beat someone up because they're abnormal." Her voice starting to shake. "Just because someone is different than all others, doesn't mean they're not human."

"He isn't human. Open your eyes Kate. He associates with the Devil."

"That doesn't make him any less human!" She screamed, turning back to the unconscious Kyle, tears welling up in her eyes.

"Tears aren't going to cut it, hun"

Kaitlyn stepped forward and shoved him back, and by instinct, he pulled his fist back to punch her. She squeezed her eyes shut, but didn't feel any contact after five seconds. She dared to open her eyes and saw Kyle, his arm holding his bleeding side, and had the other boy's wrist in his other hand. His forehead beaded with sweat as the pain started to seer into his side a knife slowly digging through his side. He used the rest of his strength to twist his wrist right around.

"Hey." Kyle sputtered, coughing "Hands off my sister." He released his wrist and watched with an emotionless expression as the taller boy held his wrist, masking the fact that it hurt a lot.
