Time. On some days, it feels like it passes so slowly to the point where it feels like it stands still. Like now, standing right in front of him, looking at this stranger. This tall boy, slightly skinny arms and his head was nicely shaved, exposing the scar on the side of his head. I hated this feeling. It was like I wanted to say something, but nothing would come out. I clenched my fists and felt like my feet would give in from under neath.
I hated and despised everything and everyone that came between us. What happened to our friendship? The boy that I felt like I knew for half his life, now stood before me and I'm staring at him as if I didn't know him at all. I wanted to scream, yell, and pound at the walls that surrounded us. Even just being alone with him now, I couldn't talk to him anymore.
I stole a glance towards him, and his eyes caught mine before I turned my head away from him again and focused on whatever or whoever else was there. I turned around and headed a different direction, feeling his eyes burn at the back of my head. I was heading towards the exit, the burning sensation leave the back of my neck. I knew, he had turned around, not taking a second glance.
My head is still screaming "It's their fault. Not yours. It's all their fault that your friendship is ruined and awkward."
Now, I wanted to cry, and scream, and yell at everyone in the room. To thank them for ruining a perfectly rich friendship. To blame it all on them for making everything awkward and building up walls between the person that I had cared about most of all. He was my close friend, and the only one that I thought would listen to me.
Not anymore.
