This was the first thing Maine asked me years ago, when we first met.
To be honest, I never expected that mahirap din pala yung marriage. Everything with Maine and I kasi, at the beginning, just fell into place, so sometimes we forget that it's something we have to work at to succeed.
Yes, maraming challenges. Yung tampuhan or fights, nandiyan palagi. But the biggest challenge for us was realizing that there are things we would have to give up, because Rosie and Troy were now our priority.
We slowly gave up a number of our projects, endorsements and other showbiz commitments even before Troy was born because one day after church, Rosie turned to us and said, "Mommy, bad baby ba Nowsie?"
"What? Of course not, Baby. Why do you say that?"
"Kasiii yung other daddy nagsa-sa-sama mag-eat after praying. My Daddy nag-a-a-alis na eh."
At the end of the day, we still focus on the happy parts of our life. Sobra kaming blessed and we just want to be grateful everyday.
It was Father's day and I wake up to kisses from the three of them. "Good morning!" Maine greeted.
"Happy Daddy Day, Daddy!" yelled Rosie and Troy.
"Mommy, Daddy stop kissing!" Rosie begged, hands covering her eyes. Troy was giggling beside her, "Funny sila pag mag kiss. Parang nag-kain sili, like Twoy."
That stopped me. "What?"
"Mommy gave me sili from plant."
"Meng!"
She was at the foot of the bed in no time, beside Rosie and Troy. "Rosie bumped her bike on your Jaguar -"
"Troy wrote on your shirt!" Rosie said.
"Mommy broke your big Iron Man!"
"ROSIE, TROY, MENG!"
"Run, babies!!!" And my Maine lead their escape.
Yes, wala nang natirang matino sa Iron Man collection ko, our cars and house are full of scratches and is far from ideal for my OC self... But, there is no place else I'd rather be. Cliche, di ba?
For now, I get up. "Lumabas kayong tatlo."
Silence.
"Labas or mag-na-knock knock joke ako."
"NOOOOOOO!" groaned Maine and Rosie.
Troy came bounding up to me. "YEHEY!!!! Dami tawa, Twoy sa jokes ni Daddy!!! Joke time na, Daddy."
Maine groaned. "Ang lupit naman ng parusang 'to."
