I heard my alarm clock greet me in the morning, blasting off. I squinted my eyes and sat on my bed. I grabbed my glasses on my cluttered nightstand and looked at the messy desk in front me. I scratched my head and wiped off the dry drool on the side of my lips. I stood up sleepily and took my daily shower.
I got out of the shower and searched for a nice bra in my messy room. I grabbed my undies in my only organized drawer. I topped it off with a loose sweater, with my old jeans and some green converse. Before I rush out the door and bid my bed goodbye.
"Going to school?" My fellow librarian and kind-of roommate/pretend older sister, Xandy asked. She was already packing up for the New York Librarian Convention. And I wished I could go, but I can't because I want a perfect attendance.
"Yeah. Oh, good luck in the convention!"
"I'll bring a you souvenir." She said, trying to comfort me in some way
"Okay..." I said sadly.I went down the six flights of stairs and grabbed my bag on the entrance desk and locked the building, leaving a prank waiting to frustrate Xandy. I unlocked my bike at the back and closed the shed.
I made a quick stop to the local store and hurriedly grabbed a pack of sour patch. I quickly pedaled my way to the school before I get late.

"OK class! I hope you have a great summer and have lots of stories to tell next year!" Ms. Hidee said as she dismissed us to have our summer break. Everyone in the class - excluding me - stood up and rushed out into the hallway. I waited until the buzz of noise outside the hallway was gone.
"Ms. Williams, I hope to hear an amazing adventure from you next year." Ms. Hidee said and walked out of the classroom
"Oh, yeah. Sure." I said blandly not noticing that she left.
I stood up from my seat and walked along the hallway and cleared out my locker. I closed it and walked out the door. I grab a yearbook from my fellow Student Body Officer and rushed back to the Library.

As I was nearing the library, I see the same old figure of an old man. Balding grey hair and his usual get up. Today he was wearing a grey vest that he usually wore on Monday, but today's a Thursday.
I was glad that Earl was still visiting me daily. I wish I could visit him at his home but he doesn't want to tell anyone his address. He never said anything about a kid or a wife so I'd always assume he was alone.
"Hey, Earl. How's the day going?" I greeted and grabbed the keys in my pocket.
"Oh, Lily, I got a date tonight." He said happily. I smiled while sorting out the keys. That was why he was wearing the grey vest.
"Wow, that's nice. Who's the lucky lady?" I ask while still fumbling with the keys.
"Well, she's sixty-five and beautiful, smart, and has twelve grandkids." I chuckled.
"That's a handful of kids." I chuckled while I opened the doors.
"Oh that isn't the case when you love them all!" he said cheerfully
"That is true." I agreed
"Thanks Lily. You're the only one that understands me." He said. I smiled at him and sat in the desk
"Do you have your library card today, Mr. Grey?" I ask the old man
"As always." He winked and handed me the card.
"Thank you!" I said cheerfully and hand him back his card.
He slowly walks in towards the shelves and disappears from sight. . .
