Eliza Jones

I walked quickly back to the cabin that night. It had been an eventful day and I still wasn't completely sure exactly who I was. I had quickly jumped onto my bed and placed the diary down on top of it. Why was Justin carrying this? Was it even his? Was it some documentation of his quests and adventures? I didn't know and at first, wasn't overly curious as to find out. But then I realized something. What if it had past memories in it and maybe I was in them? That was a chance worth taking. I opened the book to the first page.

Dear Diary,              September 2,~~~~

Today I arrived on large ship in New York. The bay was crowded, as were the streets, but never the less everything was lovely. The buildings were made of a beautiful, red brick,perhaps Athena herself would marvel over them ! I've already encountered three empousas. I believe someone does not want me to deliver my message.

My mind was swarming with questions. Who was Eliza Jones? What was her message? And why was the date scribbled out at the top? These were questions I knew I wanted to get answered. So I read on:

Dear Diary, September 3,~~~~

Today I began my journey from New York to uncharted territory. My ----- must be completed if I am to fulfill mother's wishes. I wouldn't want to disappoint a god! Right now, I am in Tenessee, making my way west. I do hope I deliver my message before it's to late!

I was about to continue when Isabelle walked inside.
"Bethany?"
"Over here."
She walked over to my bed and sat down.
"You okay?"
"Yeah, I just, wasn't in the mood for socialization. It's not everyday you wake up and find out you're the daughter of Iris."
She laughed slightly.
"Huh, guess not."
"Well, I'm gonna get some sleep. I'll see you in the morning."
"Yeah, good night."

I laid down and went to sleep. And that's when I saw her.
