"How much of an idiot do you have to be?" I heard Sousuke mutter as he took something off me and place a warm, wet rag on my head. My eyes flutter open and I find myself fully dressed with blankets pulled over me.
"Huh? What happened?" I question, attempting to sit up, only to be pushed back down.
"You caught a fever, it wasn't that bad, but you didn't notice it and only made it worse by engaging in rigorous activities." I don't know if it was just me, or the fever talk, but he looked generally worried about me.
"Is it just me, or are you actually worried about me?" I question, my head still a bit fuzzy. Not good, I'll probably say something I shouldn't and forget about it.
"I'm not dealing with a smelly corpse. Besides, the university would be inconvenienced if you died." He sighed in annoyance.
"Why do you hate me anyways, I hate you for a good shit ton of reasons. Me? I haven't done anything to make you hate me." I comment.
"For one, you slept with my older sister." Sousuke points out.
"Correction, you thought I did. You just happened to walk in when your sister was forcing herself on me. She then broke up with me, and pretended that I dumped her. I wanted to continue our relationship. We were only friends anyways. She'll probably tell you if you ask." I inform. "You on the other hand actually slept with my younger sister. Then you broke her heart. She was sobbing for over a month." I comment.
"I didn't mean to hurt her. What about the houses? I lived in mine before you moved in." He steered the conversation away from the topic.
"My parents bought the house for me to try and bribe me into being a doctor or lawyer. I just wanted to teach English to students. I've always wanted to be an English teach. And that man, Sukiyaki seems really into writing. I found out just the other day he's married and he has a kid! It's weird since he's the youngest person in my class." I ramble.
"A kid? Isn't he nineteen?" Sousuke questions.
"I believe so. But he showed me some photos, boasting about how cute his kid is." I chuckle.
"Well, strong kid for having a child and still going to school." I nod. "Anyways, that's why you became a teacher? I had no idea." Sousuke mutters.
"If I had actually done those things to you, I would understand why you hate me, but I didn't. You made revenge attempts for no reason. It hurts, you know. And if we could've gotten along, we could've been good friends. You were the first person I slept with too." I admit.
"That can't be." He grumbled.
"Well, most females hit on you and I was always busy, so of course I wasn't able to find anyone." I admit honestly.
"You should get some sleep." Sousuke sighs.
"I guess so. Goodnight then." He stares at me as I close my eyes once again, and fall asleep.
Next Tuesday....
"Sorry class, seems I caught a sudden fever over the weekend." I comment as I walk into class.
"Did you have someone take care of you? I heard someone called in sick for you." Sukiyaki, one of my star student questions.
"Can't recall. I get bouts of memory loss when I'm sick." I admit with a small smile.
"So, you can't recall the entire weekend?" Another student questions.
"Not really. Maybe my neighbor took care of me, but I doubt it. We aren't on the best terms." I inform. Someone knocks on the door and we turn our heads to see them. With a sigh, Sousuke walks in.
"Take better care of your damn health. Here." He drops something on my desk and leaves. I blink and then look in the bag.
"That was unexpected." I comment. In the bag was a bunch of medicine and first aid stuff. Nice of him.
"By any chance, is he your neighbor?" Sukiyaki questions. You know what? I'm just going to call him Suki.
"Ah, he is. Unfortunately. Oh, wait. Hmm. Oh... Okay, I think I understood what happened. I probably passed out visiting a friend of mine's bar and he probably just drove me home." I hypothesized.
"Seems logical." A student nods.
"Anyways, that out of the way, let's review what the sub taught you yesterday and what you read on Friday.
Sousuke's P.O.V.
He actually forgot. When I brought him home, I came to school and he had absolutely no idea what happened or what he said.
"You seem down Mr. Daniels." A female teacher comments. One of the youngest ones. Twenty four I believe. Kai and I were younger, but know one knew that.
"You can tell? Someone told me things they probably shouldn't and they forgot everything they said, everything that happened." I inform.
"That sounds horrible." Ms. Jackson sighs. She's the youngest female teacher.
"Yeah. Just when I feel like nothing's going to happen, the person makes me feel so damn guilty." I sigh. She doesn't respond in time, Kai entering the room. He was smiling at everyone.
"I'm sorry for troubling you yesterday. I caught a fever. Thank you for taking over for my class." He apologized to Mrs. Quincy.
"Oh don't worry. They're such a nice class. Are you sure you recovered?" She put a hand to his head.
"You seem kinda hot." She frets.
"I'm fine. We have a holiday coming soon, I can recover then. But I feel fine." He assures. I grit my teeth. He then turns to us. He walked over to me.
"As much as I hate saying this, I'm sorry for inconveniencing you. I must've passed out at James bar, right?" He interrogated.
"No, you passed out as you were leaving. I drove you home. Don't worry about it." I comment.
"What a rare occurrence! You two having a normal conversation." I sigh.
"Don't get used to it." I put a hand to his head, much to his surprise. "Don't over do it. It would be annoying." I pull my hand away.
"Is it just me, or are you being nicer than usual?" Kai comments.
"Maybe I am, maybe I'm not." I walk away to get a drink from the mini feide in the room.
"Oh, Mr. Anderson!" I glance out of the corner of my eye to see Ms. Jackson approach Kai.
"What is it Ms. Jackson?" He tilts his head.
"Well, we've been working together for a bit and I was wondering if you were interested in going on a date with me?" What?
Kai's P.O.V.
"Huh?" My cheeks heated up.
"I thought we'd be around the same age and you're really sweet, would you like to go out on a date?" I blink, then scratch the back of my head.
"I don't know the first thing about dating." I admit.
"That can't be true." Mr. Jefferson chuckled, my cheers get even hotter.
"I have never dated anyone. I'm telling the truth." Ms. Jackson just smiled.
"Then go out with me! I don't mind." I thought about it.
"I-I guess? I mean, it sounds like fun." I agreed.
"Good, then how about this Friday we go to the movies?" Without thinking, I smile.
"Sure." No one else could say anything because we had to go back to our classes, but I felt someone glaring at me.
