When we arrived at ihop i could instantly smell the fresh scent of lingering pancakes all around the room. I didnt even realize how hungry i was when a big growl errupted from my stomach making me put my hand on it. "Wow that smells delicious!" Alexandria said looking at my hand that was on my stomach. "Well you must be hungry." I am. Man this place sure brings back alot of memories." Before alexandria could respond a women with short blonde hair came over to seat us at a table. "Right this way."

As soon as we all sat down she took our orders & we patiently waited for our food. "So it saids here that the University is only about half an hour away. Not bad at all." My mom said looking at the map which had the directions on it to get there. "I cant even believe it. Our whole lives are about to change forever." "Exactly! You should be excited if anything! We finally get a chance to start be on our own in life. To become successful dancers, to travel around the world, to fall in love....I saw alexandria had paused for a second getting a small smile on her face.

"Your going to finish school first." My mom told alexandria giving her a hard glare that told me she wasnt kidding. "Of course, thats been my goal for as long as i can remember." I immediately thought back to valerie & a million thoughts began to flow threw my mind. I wondered if I would ever get to the chance to experience my first love with her. She was so beautiful & she was probably the only person who made my heart beat so fast i was afraid it would pop right out of my chest. But do you really think a guy like yourself would even get a chance with her james? My inner thoughts asked me. And sadly i knew there would be a very slight chance of that ever happening.

I dont know why she affected me this much. I wish i would just forget about her already, damnitt it couldnt be that hard. Later on the food came & when we were done we left some money on the table & left feeling pretty full. "Well I guess we should be heading to the university, the tour of the campus does start at 3:00 o clock they said." I looked over at my mom who did look pretty tired considering she already drove us here for 8 long hours straight & treated us for lunch so the least I could do was offer to drive. "Don't worry mom ill drive. You just relax for a little while & try to take a nap if you can." I said taking the keys & map from her hands. "Honey are you sure? Its really not a problem." But I knew she just saying that.

"No no I insist. You've done enough already." I gave her a peck on the cheek making her smile & she silently nodded & hopped in the back seat. "Oh my gosh I can't wait to see what the campus looks like! Especially all the hot ass guys to!" Alexandria squealed & I looked in the backseat to find mom fast alseep. Good thing she's a deep sleeper. "Your lucky moms a deep sleeper." She rolled her eyes. "Like she wasnt once young like us. Please. That's such a double standard." "She just wants the best for you Alex, that's all. So don't take it personally." "Well I know but I mean she could give me a little credit here & there. I've always been nothing but a good girl." She had a point. Mom never really gave Alexandria any credit for being such a good kid, considering the fact that she was adopted.

We found her outside of a department store crying in a corner sitting all alone when she was just 3 years old. My mom eventually decided to adopt her & raise Alexandria as if she were her own. Ever since that day she's been my bestfriend, my partner in crime. Dancing was actually part of the reason we had such a strong brother & sister relationship. It was all we knew, & somehow it kept us growing closer than ever. I knew the moment we saw her, the fear in her eyes, the hurt in her heart, the loss of ever being loved again is when I made a promise to her that very day that I would never let anything or anyone hurt her ever again. And sometimes I wonder if this is the reason my mom was so harsh on her with the whole dating thing, because she didn't want to see her to ever go through that again & much less me.

"Were here!!!" I yelled almost forgetting my mom was asleep but I knew I had woken her up by her yawning. I slighty chuckled & pulling into the parking lot I rushed over to open the door for mom & alex. "Oh my god look at this place! Its huge!" We both continued to stare at the building in awe so excited to see what it had in stores for us. "Hey guys a little help here!" I looked over to my mom who was about to fall over with the big luggage bags in her hands. We both rushed over to help her.
