We started walking hours ago. Passing a wasteland of nightmare and destruction. I didn't even know where we were going, but I trusted Hope and Melody. If they say they know how to get me back, then I have no other options. We hadn't encountered a savage animal for the many miles we have walked and hopefully it will stay that way.
Soon we approached what seemed to be a church. It was gigantic compared to all other churches I'd seen in my world.
"Father Malcolm must be in here.", Hope said. "If he isn't, I wouldn't know anything else to do."
We searched throughout the church with not much luck. Finally we entered the main hall where someone was sitting at a desk, reading what I can only think was a bible.
The figure looked up. "You girls are alive!", he exclaimed.
"Father Malcolm, we may need your help." Melody said to the preacher.
Father Malcolm was a dragon. Not exactly what I expected from a preacher of God. He was in a perfect fancy suit. No scratches or tears anywhere. I was impressed.
He looked over at me. "I see." He said with a bit of concern. "A human has returned to this world."
"Will you be able to get me back?", I asked.
"I can," Father Malcolm replied, "but I'm afraid the lower chambers is infested with savages."
We were all silent for a long period. Thinking of the pros and cons of continuing.
Finally, I broke the silence. "I want to get home. I'll do anything."
"Very well then.", Father Malcolm replied. "Hope. Melody. I want you two to stay on the second floor in the booth. I can't risk losing you two again."
With that said, we continued through a door next to the main stage of the church hall. It lead down to the lower chambers. I knew there was no going back now.
