As we descended the stairs, I became more nervous and a little scared. I almost wanted to run away from the dark chambers we were headed for. However, with the small stairway we were in and Callie being behind me, I didn't have much of a choice.
"Now, when we get down here, you both need to keep quiet and stay close to me." Father Malcolm warned.
We entered a large hall with many pillars and ancient looking books, as well as multiple doors. The room was defiantly bigger than that tiny stairwell. I could hear claws grinding and tapping against ground. I hoped it was only Callie or Father Malcolm.
We walked through many doors and halls to get to our destination. Through our travels, I heard more and more pairs of claws behind us. I was too afraid to turn around and look at what creatures may be stalking us.
We finally approached the a large metal door. Father Malcolm used the old mechanism to open it. The room had a stone table with candles surrounding it and markings all over the walls. It felt like I was being lead to a cult offering.
"Human, I need you to lay on this and relax.", Father Malcolm said. "I will then cast a spell to send you back. However, if you ever do find yourself back here again, I would be interested to hear the ways of travel."
I started to approach the stone table, when growls came from behind. Many glowing eyes pierced through the darkness that awaited outside this room. Father Malcolm went to close the metal door, with no such luck. We all began to back away towards the far end of the room.
Three savages emerged from the darkness to greet us. A tiger, a fox, and a sergal. I looked at Father Martin who was cowering against the wall. Callie seemed mad about our oncoming demise. Could that tiger be the same one from before? I didn't see any ways of escape. I knew this was the end for us.
