"You're a wolf!", The words just burst out of my mouth without thinking. He seemed a bit upset, but he shook it off.

"Yes, I am a wolf", he replied, "but I should be asking what you are."

I looked at my hands to find I still had a human body. I was not the fox fursona I had hoped to be. Questions flew through my mind, wanting answers, but none to be found. I stopped for a moment to collect my thought.

"What's happening?" I began, "I was in bed one moment and now I'm in a helicopter. I want answers now."

"Okay, calm down son." He spoke with an official tone. "We found you outside the supermarket unconscious. We picked you up a quick as we could and got out of there. We don't need another life lost."

"Another life?", I wondered, "What do you mean? What's happening out there?"

He looked at me with concern. "The world has fallen into anarchy. One moment, everyone was peacefully living their lives. The next, they went savage."

It didn't help that a perfectly timed burst of thunder and lightning shot through the air.

"Not everyone was affected though.", he continued, "Prepared officials, such as me and my colleagues, and a handful of helpless civilians are still safe."

"Where are we going?", I asked.

"We are taking you to a shelter, where all other unaffected citizens are.", He replied.

We sat there in silence for a few minutes. I listened to the loud patter of the helicopter wings as they carried us through the sky. The officer's voice finally broke the silence.

"You know, you're rather lucky, kid.", He muttered, "To have been all alone out there and be perfectly fine."

I took the compliment and sat in anticipation for us to land safely on the ground. I didn't want to be up in the air at this moment.

The pilot opened the door. He was a bluejay. First thing I noticed was the large cut that ran over his eye. I assumed it was from a pair of claws.

"We are almost at our destination." He shouted, "Prepare for our landing."

He vanished back into the cockpit, ready to bring us down. I could feel the slight tilting of the vehicle as we descended.

We landed with a slight thud. The officer opened to door to reveal a desolate world. The sky was dark and dust was filling the air, limiting our vision. A small building, no bigger than a normal house, stood in front of us. The officer led the way to a sturdy metal door in the front of the building. It was being monitored by two other guards with what appeared to be AK-47s. They opened the doors and brought me in to what they claimed was the only safe place left.
