It has been ten years since the girl died. Her name was Abigail, and she was Georgy’s next-door neighbor, his best friend. They did the previous routine every morning since they both could speak. Abigail was six years old when she died. So was George. Now-at sixteen-George is the most popular kid in his grade who gets straight A’s. He plays sports like soccer, basketball, and baseball for High school. Many girls want to be with him and many guys want to be him to get the attention of all those girls. Yes, he has gone on dates with the majority of those girls, but none ever made him happy; none ever made him feel important. However, when he was little, he felt like the most important person in the world. She made him feel that way. Every morning he had to wake up early to make a funny face to a living person. It was to her. Since his mom and dad both had work, he would have to be dropped off and picked up at a friend’s house. It was always her house. It was always her. His little Abby. His Abigail. Without her he seems…incomplete. It’s cheesy, but true.
