“Hey, George.” A thin, blonde-haired girl, bounced in excitement for speaking to the gorgeous, blond-haired, green-eyed hunk of muscle that was George. “W-what are you doing this Saturday, cuz I know this really great club up near Jersey street, and I was hoping you could come check it out with me,” her heart-shaped face started to turn red from embarrassment. That was completely normal to him. He even knew which “club” she had been talking about; it was the La plush, the most happening hot spot in all of Clearwater. He took many of his dates there, but he wanted to take one in particular. He realized that he never could.
“Sure,” he sighed. The girl’s perfectly round lips stretched across her face in a big white smile. Never has a girl given him a smirk, always a full smile. Never has a girl laughed heartily, always giggled. The dismissal bell rung, so George grabbed his books and shoved them into his gray backpack. He closed his locker and headed into the large crowd of students to the bus lobby. George walked past the long line of yellow buses to the sidewalk that led into a small neighborhood.
George put on a smile and waved back, “Definitely! Go Basshunters!” Screams, yells, and cheers of spirit sounded from all of the buses as they pulled out of the line. “Go Basshunters!” “Cornwall’s goin down!”
His smile began to fade as he continued down the sidewalk. The game… The annual Basshunter vs. Cornwall football game… the one that decides who wins the high school championship. After that it’s the soccer tournament’s final game, in which George is expected to score the winning goal like he did for the past eight games. It would have been nine games, but he let James Nolan have the spotlight for a while. However, it wasn’t long before the spotlight found George again for getting the highest grade point average in the school.
Typical. No one can escape for long.
