"Lucyyyy!! Wake up!" Levy shouted.

I rolled over on my anemone bed groaning. 

Levy McGarden is my best friend and a daughter of one of the nobles in the royal court. We've known each other since we were small since my mother Layla had been friends with her mother. Later on King Jude Heartfilia, My father, decided to appoint Levy to be the historians assistant.

Since my father is the King, I, of course, am a princess! The Heartfilia's have reigned Regalia for over a century, after the Celestial's faded from the royal lineage.

"Lu get out of bed! It's almost time for breakfast!" Levy poked my face with her finger.

"Go away Lev.." I yanked my blanket of sea silk over my chin.

Suddenly I felt something slimy on my face. I tried to pull it off but it was stuck to my face. My eyes shot open. I couldn't see anything!!

"HAHAHAH," Levy giggled with glee.

"LEVY WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME?!!" I panicked. I tossed my head and the seaweed fell off my head.

Levy's eyes widened and she gave a nervous giggle. I rolled off my anemone bed and glared at her.

"Oopsies I gotta go now!" My best friend shot off, leaving a trail of bubbles with her sapphire blue tail glinting. She disappeared around the corner as she swam away, her laughter fading as she escaped.

"I'll get you for this!" I cried, fumbling to put on a loose pink gown and comb my hair. As soon as I was done, I swished my rose colored tail and swam after Levy.

As I dashed down the grand halls of our underwater palace, I admired the glimmering salt water as schools of fish drifted past.

The palace was mainly made of polished marble. Columns of white stone rose towards the towering ceiling. A chandelier made of sea crystals hung above me.

The royal family used to live in a different palace. It was abandoned decades ago when this place was built. Nowadays, mer avoided the old ruins. Some even say that it's cursed...

Glancing past through a window, I watched as dolphins frolicked through the sea grass. Crystals glittered in between rock crevices and the glinting scales of tropical fish flashed as they swam by. I never got tired of seeing the sunlight filter through the anemone plants outside our windows.

Passing by the throne room, I caught a flash of blue scales through the window. I slowly made my way over the waving kelp curtain.

"BOO!" Screaming, I tumbled backwards in shock.

"Ha I got you again!!" Levy laughed so hard that she started crying.

"I hate you Levy," I glared at her with my best death glare.

"Love you too Lu," she grinned. Just then, the royal trumpets blared.

"It's time for breakfast," I exclaimed. "I'm starving." I started to make my way down to the dining hall. Levy trailed behind, and tempted to comb her blue curls with her fingers.

"Lucy!" I turned around at the sound of my name.

"Erza!" I smiled at the ruby-haired mermaid. Erza Scarlet is the daughter of one of the captains in the royal family's private guard. Me and Levy met her on her first day here when her father was appointed as a captain. We became quick friends after that day.
