Holding his crowned head up high, Prince Cliff gently knocked on the door of Crimson's room. "The ball starts in a few minutes. I'll be waiting for you in the Grand Ballroom."

"Actually, do you think I could come with you now?" Her reply was muffled.

"If you want to," he responded.

Crimson stepped out of the room, the torchlight catching the golden chains wrapped around her horns and long neck, twined into a complex pattern. A thin tiara made of diamonds circled her head, giving her an angelic look. She wore only a few strands of jewelry, and yet, she was as radiant as the sun.

Cliff shook his head to clear his thoughts, linking talons with her and gently guiding her to the ballroom. Voices pressed in on them from all around.

"-cute couple-"

"-same necklace as Queen Ruby, do you think-"

"-strange anklet, it's made of pearls-"

"-get that crown? She couldn't have-

Cliff noticed that Crimson was blushing, and twined his tail around hers. "Smile," he whispered, beaming at her. "You are the most beautiful dragoness in this room,  that's gotta something to be happy about." She blushed even redder, but managed to smile in his direction, and soon found out it was easy.

Cliff led her to the dance floor, where Auklet decided that this was officially the best day of her life.
