Frostheart looked at the rising sun. She had gone out on dawn patrol and now the patrol was returning to camp. This would probably be one of her last patrols for a while.
She entered the camp. Lionclaw was sitting down washing his paws near the fresh kill pile. She walked over to him and licked his head as she sat down.
He looked over and smiled. "You're moving into the nursery today right?" he asked. "Yup." answered Frostheart. He nodded. "I'm going to miss you in the warrior's den." he continued. "It won't be forever." she replied as she started to clean her paws. "It will still be for a long time..." he started. "It won't be as long as you think." Frostheart cut in.
He sighed and stood up. "I've got a hunting patrol." he meowed as he walked away. Frostheart watched him walk away.
"Frostheart!" squealed a small voice. She turned to look down at Daisykit starring at her. "Yes Daisykit?" she asked the young kit.
"Mama sent to to get you!" the kit meowed excitedly. "She said your nest is ready!"
"Alright." she replied to the kit as she stood to her paws. The kit lead her across the clearing telling her how her and her brothers mae her nest, making sure there weren't any thorns or dry moss.
Frostheart entered the nursery, taking in the warm milk scent. Ryefang sat up when Frostheart entered. Your nest is that one she said pointing with her tail to a nest near the back. Ryefangs other two kits looked up from what looked like a game of moss ball. Their sister pounced on Rockkit's tail.
Turtleclaw laid in another nest her very plump belly made her look like a fat mouse. Her kits were due any day now.
Frostheart settled down in her new nest and watched the three kits tussle. Soon the three kits tired and the two tom kits flopped over into their nest and fell asleep. Daisykit instead walked over to Frostheart.
"When will your kits be here?" the kit asked. "Not for another half moon." she replied looking down at her belly that seemed to increase in size everyday.
"Do you have names?" the kit continued. "No not yet, but I'm sure i'll pick them when they are born."
The kit nodded and walked over two her nest where she plopped herself in between her litter mates and fell asleep.
