Chapter Nine

Mabel was able to convince Dipper to somehow transform himself to be a smaller size and fit into her backpack.They didn't want Wendy and Soos to know about him yet,just Ford.
Mabel knocked at the door.Here it goes,she thought.
She was greeted by a warm hug.She looked up to see Soos's girlfriend and the new Mystery Shack cashier,Melody.
"Hello Mabel!Soos told me that Stan had come in and told us that you were coming.Were's your dear brother?"she asked,fiddling with her hair.
"Uh-he's uh-...."Think,Mabel Pines!Your a darn better liar than your brother!"He's back at Piedmont.He broke his leg,and it's pretty severe."
"Oh,wish him luck on that."Melody said,and stepped away from the door."Come inside."
As she stepped into the gift shop, was greeted by two more even warmer,longer hugs.
"Mabel!Your back!"her best friend Candy said,adjusting her glasses."We missed you!"
"Yeah girl!We missed you so much!"Mabel's other best friend,Grenda said in her deep,masculine voice.Mabel gave a small chuckle.
"I missed you girls too."she said,smiling.She almost forgot about the real reason why they came to Gravity Falls,until Dipper's voice in the back of her mind nagged,There's no time for chitchat!We need to go talk to Great Uncle Ford,now!
Wait,you can do that?Mabel asked Dipper in her mind.
Yeah!Now hurry up,it's so sweaty in here!Her demon brother replied.
"Sorry Candy,Grenda.We can talk another time.....I have things to do.See you tomorrow here?"Mabel said,sighing.She really wanted to bond with them.
"Alright,bye!"Candy called,and she and Grenda headed out the Mystery Shack.
Mabel walked toward the living room,and spotted Soos.She went up to him and said,"Hey!"
Soos gave a smile."Hey dude.Where's your brother?I have a cool idea for our bro bonding time to do!"
"Sorry....he's majorly ill and broke his leg,so he's at a hospital at Piedmont......."Mabel lied through her teeth.
"Oh,tell him I hope that dude feels better.Sorry,gotta go!"he headed out the room.
As Soos left,Mabel heard anxious whispers in the hallway.Curious,she leaned in and listened.
Stanford,Mabel and Dipper have come for another visit to Gravity Falls.
Oh,them two!They're the sweetest pair of twins I have ever met!Why are they here,though?I thought they were supposed to be at Shermie's daughter's house the whole winter.
Look,they're here for....personal and not-so-personal reasons.Mabel is in the living room....she'll explain to you.
                  Dipper's there too,right Stanley?
                 Yeah,but-*cough*Mabel will explain.
                 "Hey Mabel."Mabel spun around to see her other great uncle,Stan's twin,Ford Pines."Stanley told me you had some things to explain to me."
                  "Yeah-yeah I do."Mabel blushed slightly,and sighed."I don't know how to start this,but let's go somewhere private to talk about this issue."
                     Ford nodded and both of them headed down the basement.It was messy,papers everywhere.Papers on the walls,papers on the floor,papers on the couch,and even papers on the ceiling.
                    "Ok,so Dipper had been complaining of headaches and pains in his stomach,his arms started turning ash gray........."

                    "Just as I suspected......"Ford sighed.Mabel didn't need to tell him what Dipper had become,because the genius already had guessed it.
                     "Look,Mabel-"he put down a hand on Mabel's shoulder."-your brother's a demon now,but not a full demon.A half demon.He can enter the Mindscape and our dimension as he pleases,but he has no physical form.He has powers like Bill,and since he is a demon now.....well,he's going to have some personality changes."
                     Mabel had left her backpack in the living room.Thank goodness Dipper weren't here right now,or he would be freaking out,the whole paranoia again.
                     "Y-yeah....I noticed....he acts-different."Mabel said.
                     "Mabel,dear....I wish it could be me and Dipper helping to stop this,but ends up it's you and me.We have our differences,and we have to put that aside,in order to help your brother."Ford looked at Mabel deep in the eyes."Trust me?"
Mabel and Ford locked eyes."I trust you,Great Uncle Ford.I trust you."
"Ok....let me explain to you about Dipper's new form.I have two theories supporting this matter.The first one is the obvious to you.Bill is behind this....but if you listen to my second theory the first will seem unlikely.The second is that Dipper's demon is behind this (Mabel thought about Pine Tree).Let me explain,the symbols around the zodiac,all the people that they represent have demons,they are simply named after the symbols.Dipper's demon is Pine Tree,Yours is Shooting Star,Mine is Six Fingers,Stan's is Fez,and so on.The demon could give a rise to power if they make their mortal vessel weak,make them angry and dark."Ford explained.
"I-I met Pine Tree....and Shooting Star."Mabel said,looking at Ford.
"I've never met my demon."Ford looked at Mabel,surprised."Tell me about this,later.Now we have to see the dear brother of yours,I'll explain to him everything."
