Chapter 3

~~~Later~~~

We were sitting by a tree and talking when my stomach made noise. I was so embarrassed, I swear I blushed a little. Carla and Sherria laughed.

"You must be pretty hungry. Here there's a food stand over there." Sherria pointed in front of me. I followed her pointed finger to see a apple seller.

"Go and get something to eat. We'll wait here."

"Thanks."

I walked to the food stand while waving at them and, of course being the clumsy person I am, I bumped into someone. I could here Carla and Sherria busting into laughter. I gave them my death glare and they immediately stop laughing. My death glare is my specialty.

"Sir, I am so sorry! You see, I wasn't paying attenti-"

"It's alright." He was scratching the back of his neck. He chuckled.

"It's my fault for not seeing you."

"But I was behi-" he held his hand up.

"No buts. Hey by any chance were you going to the food stand over there?" He pointed in front of me.

"Actually yeah I was just on my way there before, you know, I bumped into you."

"Really? Oh wow, you see I'm the son of the person who owns it. Currently I'm holding the fort down for my old man. Come, I'll give you a discount for your troubles."

"Oh no, I can't accept that! After all, it is my fault I bumped into you."

"But you will if you're going to buy anything from me."

"Are just going to keep telling me about this discount until I say yes?"

The boy smirked. "Yes."

"Oh fin-"

Before I could even finish, he grabbed my hand and started to walk me to the stand. The boy kept rambling about boats or something.

We got to his stand

"Now, what will it be?"

"Um..." I glanced over the food selection. "An apple, please."

"And that will be... 40 jewel~!" He smiled warmly at me.

I looked down at the sign. It said 60 jewel.

"No really, it's ok I'll pay full pri-"

"No! I will not accept full price from you, Mrs.."

"...Wendy." I smiled awkwardly. I really didn't want to pay half, but this boy wasn't giving up.

"...Wendy, huh?" The boy's smile had faded. So did mine.

"So you a fan of the king and queen? Give me 100 jewels."

I swallowed and stared at him. I quickly nodded and grabbed the jewel from my satchel.

He grabbed the jewel from my hand.

"Now leave." He spat on my cloak.

Instinctively, I turned away very quickly. I powered walked away and looked for the quickest way to get away.

So much for not getting myself noticed....
