Tabitha's Paper

Hi,

My name is Tabitha Green and I am 14 years old in 8th grade currently attending Kingsdale Middle School. It's the year of 2016 and to be honest I'm not thrilled about what's going on around the world lately. Paris terrorist attacks, shootings at gay clubs, slaughtering of Christians, etc. It's all pretty scary. And the thing that scares me the most is the election coming up for our new President. I know, I know, politics and terrorism should not be things a 14 year old girl worries about, but thanks to our last President Obama, our world is getting worse and worse. Lets get real people, He's letting in all these immigrants which yes helps them and I guess if I were an immigrant I'd want to be let in too, but it brings more risk.  How would you like it if you worked your butt off working to earn a salary thats barely enough to support your family, and then even more is deducted from your paycheck to buy food so that immigrants can get it for free?  They should have to come to America and work their butts off too.  Heck they shouldn't even be bothering us, but they should at least work for their food, clothes, etc. if they are gonna come anyway. Sheesh everyone wants to come to America during time of hardship or struggle. Of course, I cant see anyone going to Africa for help. And the refugees, they are fleeing from bombing, shooting and all the bad stuff going on where they are from. Yes I would want to escape that too, but maybe one of those refugees is a terrorist slipping in through the crowds You never know, I'm just saying.

I come from a republican family against socialism and a democratic society. Think of it this way, Communism=bad!!!! Socialism=Communism!!!!! And Socialism= what certain democrats want. Communism is a further development or "higher stage" of socialism. Yes that is a definition off of the internet. My family is petrified that Hilary Clinton is going to get elected. Did you here about the email scandal? And the troops in Benghazi? Lovely woman. Hilary is not the kind of person we want. I'm not saying Trump would be my first choice, but he is the best out of all the candidates in mine and my family's opinion. Okay I think I'm going a little far into my beliefs. Let me stop before a war breaks out between Democrats and Republicans. Anyway in my social studies class last year I learned about the how the constitution came about and George Washington and all that good stuff. This year we have covered the Civil War, World War I, The Great Depression, The Dust Bowl, World War II, and The Cold War. Yes America's greatest times (Sarcasm if you didn't get that). I find it interesting how some of the issues stated in the past are being brought up now. Like How George Washington stated in his "Farewell Address" about neutrality, isolation, not breaking up into political parties, and not engaging in foreign affairs.  Well Donald Trump wants to build a wall. Isn't that technically isolationism if we are building a wall to keep the unwanted out? Then again, what do I know?

In conclusion,

America is starting to become what our founding fathers feared and we need to stop it before World War III or whatever. And I believe that if Hilary is elected our world will fall apart. And I know this sounds hypocritical because I was just talking about how immigrants and refugees shouldn't be allowed in, but if Hilary gets elected......I'M MOVING TO CANADA!!!!!  That's it. I don't care about what I said earlier. Yep I'm a selfish little witch who cares only about herself. Get over it.

Tabitha's social studies teacher Mr. Wallowitz  hands out the social studies essays that he's graded.

"Mr. Wallowitz"? She says annoyed/shocked. "An F? But why? Surely it must be some mistake." Tabitha said as she flipped over her essay grade and made her way towards his desk.. "Tabitha, I can assure you it's not a mistake. The assignment was to write a research paper on American History. A research paper is cold hard facts with cited evidence. And you have to be clear on the side you are writing about. For example if you say immigrants should be banned and shouldn't be welcomed just because they are having a situation where they are from, then you cant say if Hilary gets elected your moving to Canada. That completely goes against your whole argument. A counter-argument would have been fine but this is just not it. This is just a bias and a sarcastic joke of a paper. You are going to make a mockery of our class. And quite frankly I think you should go to guidance. I'm very disappointed Tabitha. This is a disgrace, and I hold you to a higher standard then everyone else in the class. You are a very bright girl but this needs some sort of consequence" Mr. Wallowitz said sternly. "And I've emailed a copy to your parents and our school Principal". "What?" Tabitha asked looking offended holding back tears. "I'm sorry Tabitha and I've got a class to teach we've held up the lesson enough." He said. Tabitha walked back to her seat. The whole class stared at her in shock. She was the smartest girl in the class and had the best grades in everything, How could Tabitha Green get a bad grade, let alone an F? And the fact that he said she made a mockery of the whole class and was a disgrace? Wow, just wow.
