Sundas, 7th of Morning Star, 7:42 p.m

I think I've made a mistake today.

I wasn't thinking. My pride in worshipping Talos has sent me to the gathering earlier today at the shrine to Talos in Riften. Bear warned me not to go, even though Riften is strictly Stormcloak territory. It was good to praise Talos in the cool fresh air of the Rift, though. I even brought Auriinye with me, hoping to spread my love of Talos onto her.

Anyways, to not dally on the purpose of this journal entry, I'm going to get down to business, as young Auriinye is pleading me to braid her beautiful hair before we head to Ivarstead. It's also Bear's birthday, so he says. He's pulled that card on me plenty atimes, but I believe him today.

Agh! There I go again, drifting from the subject at hand. Anyways, as I sat with the gathered crowd of Talos - Worshippers, the sight of an approaching Maven Black - Briar caused the priestess to stop her words and gaze curiously as the wretched woman.

She'd come casually strolling over to us to tell us that our attempts at worshipping an "invisible" god has provoked her to send word to the nearest Imperial Legate that a detachment of Thalmor justiciars should be dispatched to Riften immediately, as a "cult" of Talos worshippers had been found.

The nerve of that woman, eh? It seemed she timed it just right to tell us, as a group of Thalmor justiciars came stomping toward us. Three of them had their bows raised, and the other four had their swords drawn.

it didn't take me long at all to come to my senses and scramble to my feet and drag Auriinye with me down into lower levels of the docks and into the Ratway. We'd hid in the dank sewers for hours, and it was after five - thirty when we crawled out of the filthy city and hurried back to our home at the base of the Velothi mountains. Bear was ballistic, his arms waving this way and that as he scolded me and fussed over Auriinye.

As if I need that. Or her, for that matter.

But, my dear journal, this must be the end of today's entry. Auriinye in now tugging my arm, almost causing me to blot the parchment. She's ten seasons old and still acts as if she's only four, ha ha!

Goodbye journal. May my next entry be interesting and soon.

A/N : For the record, Bear is Auriinye's father, who is a Bosmer. Her mother, though I'm sure you've figured out, is Virene, who is an Altmer. I am going to upload a small ... thing I typed up in my notes about Auriinye. It gives a bit about both her parents, also, so maybe you'll get more of an insight on her. :)
