The look on Farkas' face was akin to love. Eira couldn't see it, but it was there.
He held her tighter, savoring the feeling of her slim body against his; the way her arms seemed to melt through his armor and warm his skin.
"I don't want you to go," his gruff voice was sharp in the silence, clear and full of emotion.
"I don't want to go either, but it's my destiny. Sovengarde needs me. The world needs me. If Alduin remains alive for even one more second -"
Farkas cut her rambling off with a hard kiss. It was something he'd wanted for a long time: the taste of Eira Winter - Tongue's lips on his own. But he couldn't enjoy it for long, as Eira jerked herself from him entirely. She stood a few feet from him, her back mere inches from being against the wall. A look of shock was plasted on her face, which, usually shrouded by a hood or cowl, was covered in a fierce blush.
"Farkas -" she choked on her own words, a sob rising from her chest. " - I can't - we can't - I'm engaged, Farkas! You knew this, how could you -" she shook her head as tears rolled from her eyes in thick streams.
Eira couldn't stop the steady stream of blubbering from her mouth, but Farkas on the other hand, was lapsed into silence.
She continued to stare at him, her bottom lip trembling against the forcibly held back sobs. "Aren't you going to say anything? Apologize?"
Farkas remained silent and still. The only movement was of his chest, rising and falling under the weight if his steel armor. His eyes were downcast and full of tears threatening to spill. He swallowed back a sob of his own before speaking.
"Go. Leave. And don't come back. Ever."
A wail escaped Eira's mouth. "That's - that's all you're going to say?"
He looked up, locking eyes with the distraught half - Nord in front of him. "I'm glad you never joined the Companions."
Eira let out another wail, bringing forth a new wave of tears. She sputtered over words, none distinguishable. Finally, giving up and falling into a pained silence, Eira Winter - Tongue shoved past her former love and hurriedly made her way out of Jorvaskrr, into the chilly, star - speckled world outside her former home.
