Chapter 2: Royalty awaits

"Do all the meals here contain blood?" Lilith asks as we line up on the queue to order in the school's cafe.

"Um, not exactly. Most of them do though but some don't because vampires could sometimes get bored of consuming blood everyday, even though it's everyone's favorite meal." Darcey explains.

Lilith squints her eyes as she studies the cafe's menu that is hung on the walls behind the counters. "Blood cheesecake bites, Mississippi blood pie, O-blood frappuccino, A-blood frappuccino, Bloodapino-" Lilith stops mumbling the meals on the menu and glances at us shooting a funny smirk and continues, "Blood velvet cake, blood latte, peanut butter & blood frap, umm... oooh! Chocolate chip frappuccino!"

"Oh come on Lilith, I'm sure you've had many of those. Shouldn't you be trying some blood meals instead? Come on, they're on me." I offer with a smirk. She sighs and smiles.

"Alright then, peanut butter & blood frap and blood cheesecake bites it is!"

The three of us giggle while Lilith rolls her eyes playfully. It's finally our turn to order and I end up treating them all. We walk to an empty booth and sit down together.

"*sighs* Don't you vamps think our new common room is so much better than sophomore year?" Darcey asks us.

"Of course, we're now living in luxury with a common room like that." Kora says giggling.

"Wait...what do you gu- vamps mean?" Lilith asks cocking an eyebrow.

"Last year our common rooms were horrible. It was only the size of our dorms! And not a single couch, only chairs. Chairs ya hear me?" Kora cries frustrated.

"Yeah, until they renovated them on summer. Probably the doing of our new principal. " I explain which made the girls but Lilith widen their eyes. "Mhm, so long headmaster Griffin and hello headmaster Bloodgood." I add smirking.

"By the way, you're sixteen right Lilith?" Kora asks while twirling her thick hair.

"Um yeah, so?" Lilith replies.

"That means you'll be sixteen forever, vamp! A bitten vampire will stay the same age as she is bitten while us vampires who were born like this, will keep aging until our twenties or thirties. So lucky you, you'll look younger than ever!" Kora squeaks happily.

"Oh, I didn't know that." Lilith answers before a smile creeps onto her face.

I'm now looking around the cafe while waiting for our orders when I spotted Nate, Darcey's ex walking in the cafe together with Serene.

"Hey, look at them." I tell my friends pointing at the 'couple'.

"Oh my God! How could he?" Kora squeaks making a frown.

"Uh, Kora-" Darcey says before Kora cuts her off. "No Darcey, you do not deserve to be treated like this. I saw her with Nate too on the couch back in the common room." And then she stands up, calling for Serene's name. Serene notices her and she waves happily. She walks towards our booth looking cheerful as ever.

"Hey vamps, and you must be Lilith. Welcome to our school." she greets us politely.

"Um... thanks?" Lilith replies before Kora makes a move. "Listen to me Serene, Darcey here used to be Nate's girlfriend and they just broke up! You can't just take him for yourself like that!"

Serene looks at us with a confused look and Darcey just giggles. "Kora, I'm not taking anyone from Darcey. Nate's my cousin." Serene explains chuckling while Kora and I whisper a long 'oh'.

"I also agree that Darcey should be with Nate. Come on, he loves you dearly and I've talked to him, he's been so sad ever since the break-up." Serene explains. And then she looks over to the counter and waves at Nate, "Nate! Over here." Nate spots her and walks towards the booth bringing two cups of blood coffee.
