Chapter 3

•Unbelievable•

Caleb, Ben and Evan were hanging out with the other players of the football team and all the girls, including me, Lisa and Reed were hanging out at the other corner.

The prom night had just begin and there was soft music playing behind.

"Hello, and Welcome to the Prom, what are you guys waiting for? Get your dates to the dance floor.", the host announced and we saw some couples moving towards the dance floor.

When the music started to take it's pace, Caleb and Reed moved to the dance floor.

I saw Ben walking towards us.

"Lisa, can I have this dance?", Ben asked Lisa, extending his hand for Lisa to take.

"Sure.", Lisa said taking his hand.

I saw them both dancing romantically with each other.
They looked so happy.
They were so perfect.

I looked around the room, which was now lit with dim lights, it was almost dark, but there were spotlights on the dance floor.
The room was dark and cold.

The environment of the room was so amazing, it brought a smile to my face.

I was enjoying my cold drink and watching the the couples dance, before my eyes locked with Evan's.

He was looking at me, but I just couldn't read his expression.

I felt my heart constrict at the thought of what happened out there.

I wish we didn't fight today.
I really wanted this day to be special.

I turned around, I just couldn't hold Evan's gaze for too long.

I felt tears well up in my eyes again.

I heard the song change to 'More than this' by One direction. And the lights changed to purple-ish. I loved this song.

When the song started I felt someone's fingers intertwine with mine. And I knew who it was.

Evan.

I turned around to look at him.

"Evan?", I asked in confusion.

"Shh.. ", he kept his finger on my lips, "Would you dance with me?", he said softly.

It sent shivers to my body.

I sighed and nodded.

He held my hand and took me to the dance floor.

The music was playing behind us.

He placed my hands on his shoulders and wrapped his hands around my waist.
And we started dancing.

I didn't look at him. I felt so bad. We were so close, yet not happy. I wish things would have been different right now.

Everything was perfect around us, but we weren't happy.

I am broken, Do you hear me...
I am blinded, You are evrything I see..
I am dancing along..

I heard the lyrics playing behind us and I was looking at the floor right now.

"Becca, I am sorry.", Evan whispered which made me look at him.

He looked so genuine. His eyes were looking at me intensely.

And thus I walk up to the door,
My head turns to face the floor...
Coz can't look you in the eyes and say..

"I over reacted. I shouldn't have--",he started but I interrupted.

"Sh.. it's okay Evan. I am sorry too.", I said and wrapped my hands around his waist and let my head rest on his chest, with his chin on my head.

We were still swaying with the music.

I could hear his heartbeats. This felt good.

I let myself loose into his arms and enjoyed the lyrics of the song playing behind me.

I forgot all that happened a between us earlier.

If I am louder,
Would you see me,
Would you lay down,
In my arms and rescue me..
Coz we are the same..
You save me.. and when you leave its gone aga...

"Becca?"

"Hmm?", I said still not pulling away.

"You know, I love you, right?", he said.

"And you should know I love you more than any stupid dress", I said raising my head to meet his eyes and he chuckled.

"By the way..", he started and narrowed his eyes at me as if thinking something.

"Yeah?", I asked.

"You do look really hot in this dress.", he said and winked.

"Finally?", I said.

"Yes.",he said grinning.

"Thanks. But I am never wearing it again. I don't want these stupid things to come between us."

"Becca, no matter what you wear, you are always going to be the most beautiful girl for me.", he said smiling at me.

I blushed.

"You look cute while you blush.", he said and I blushed even more.

I rested my head again on his chest and continued dancing with the lyrics of the song be the only words we hear.

Coz I can love you more than this..
I can love you more than this..
