Steve was currently on a mission and you were getting a debreifing from your last with Fury. You had offered to go but Fury said no. You were getting tired of working for shield. You had thought about quitting and only doing avengers missions but you had no grades that would be vaild for a job now. Mabey Tony could do something for you. You were interupted from your thoughts with Fury dismissing everyone. You stayed behind. "Something you wanted ms" he asked. "No I just thinking about the new mission you were talking about." You replied. "What about it?" He asked. "Any chance captian rogers is in it?" You asked. "Im sorry but I will see what I can do" Fury said. "You know when Coulson came to me 2yrs ago recuiting me to the Avengers. He said that me and Steve would be fighting along sides again just like the old times. I have a feeling you don't want that to happen." You asked. "It was Coulsons promise but if you want more information I guess you should take to the head." He replied. "Aren't you the head?" You replied. "No I am the director. Follow me" he replied motioning you with his hands to follow you. "Not much if a differnce" you mumbled under your breath. Fury took you to the top level. You were told that you were meeting someone called Alexander Perice. He was the head of the council. Therefore the head of sheild. "You must be Y/n Barnes. I am sorry for your loss" he said. My loss? Hardle anyone at sheild knows about that. Mainly because it happened 70yrs ago. You gut was telling you not to trust this guy. "I am sir" you repiled. "What is that you would like to disguss with me?" He asked with a welcoming smile on his face. "I would like more missions with the captain please" you asked. "Yes I have heard. You see your skill set is different to Captain Rogers. Your missions are more for spies rather than soliders. Which his mission is at the moment. And your new mission is only for spies" Alexander replied. "Yes I see so Black Widow is on the mission. Shes not a spy then" you replied. "I don't want to get into this. Fury see her out og my sight" Alexander replied with an angry sigh. "Nice meeting you Peirce." I replied. He scoffed in responce. Fury lead me to the elevator. "Level insight" Fury spoke allowed. "Agent Barnes is not authorised to be at that level" the elevator said back. "Authorised by Nicolous J Fury" Said Fury. We stood in silence for a while until Fury said "with all do respect. I watched you and cap fight in New york and how people willingly followed your orders. I think that you make a great team. Im willing to make you to go on future missions.". I smiled. "Thanks fury. I wouldnt know what id do without you" you replied. The rest of the elevator was slient until you saw new helicarriers in the making. They were bigger and more advanced. "Helicarriers?" You asked. "Yes these are desgined to destroy threats before they already happen" he said. "But how will that work. Surely it will cause more trouble right?" You questioned. "Maybe, maybe not. But theres i file that i want you to look at when agent romanoff comes back." He said. "Any idea whats on it" you replied. "Not the slightest. But i suggest you get home" he said. "Of course call if you need anything" you replied. "You know i see you as my younger daughter. But yes i will call" he said looking down at his feet. You smiled at what he said. Maybe it would destroy him if you resigned. But all of these missions without steve are driving you insane. Maybe Fury can put yoi in a mission with him. You went to the garage and saw Steves bike. It had it sheild in place meaning he is back. You passed natasha as i got into my car. You drove to the apartment you shared with Steve. Its been 2yrs since you got together and you moved in with each other. You called Sam to see if he wanted to go for a jog. The phone picked up:
"Hey Y/n whats up" - Sam (Falcon)
"Wanted to know if you wanted to come for a jog with me"- y/n
"Yer I will text you when I arrive at our usual meeting place"- Sam
"Okay. I will text if anything changes. You know me with my job and all"- Y/n
"Haha yes 'Night Shadow' " he laughed.
" bai" you said before hanging up. You made a quick meal and turned on the tv to see whats on. You sat on the sofa and ate your meal. You got a text from Sam saying hes ready to meet up. You got you running gear on and started to run your way to Sam. You guys chatted for a bit and ran. But after about 30mins into your run you got a call from Fury. He told you to got at a certain junction. You said good bye to Sam and ran as fast as you could. About 5 police cars and 10 swat cars drove past you at full speed. One of them was going to hit a child so ran and grabbed the child before running off again. One of the drivers started to shoot at you. You ran along side a black SUV. It just happened to be fury. You jumped in with him. "WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!" you shouted over the gunshots. "I DON'T KNKW GOD DAMMIT" he replied. You turned to look through what was left of the front window. Your breath hitched in your throat when you saw a man dressed in black. He had long dark brown hair that stood out his pale face. He wore a mask and had a metal arm. He raised two guns at your car. He took the shot aiming staight at you. One of the guns was a hand gun and that shot you in the arm twice and the other he shot underneath you car causing it to explode up in the air and flip. A shard of glass planted its self into your side as the car hit the ground. Through a gap in the window you could see the man walking up to the car. His metal arm shining in the moonlight. Fury had already cut a hole in the ground which both of you had jumped through. You ran back to your apartment. You had questions for Fury about what happened. But a thought still lingered your mind. Who was the Man with the metal arm?
