Chapter Three
Bethany’s POV
Lunch was weird. I walked into the lunchroom, behind Troy, Bret, Alex and Jake, like always. But today, every one kept looking at me. “She must be playing around with new alphas.” A voice whispered and I looked down. “She probably is tricking them into thinking that she is awesome and cool.” Another voice sneered. And to make it worse, in walked the Slade Brothers. And I felt a sudden rush of energy. “She is just a whore, why would she be with the top 4 guys here, now the new sexy Alphas.” A nasally voice gagged. I growled and before realizing it had grabbed her by her throat and held her in the air. “Watch your tongue you stupid mutt.” I growled low and deadly, the entire cafeteria was quiet and watching.
“Bethany?” Alex gasped in disbelief. “Wow the little whore has a voice.” The girl sneered and her friends giggled. I heard the guys growl and were about to say something but I beat them to it. “Bitch.” I smirked and slung her into a wall, she got up and charged me and as she got within reach, I lifted my foot up and she fell down clutching her stomach gasping for air. I smirked and then realization hit, me, I had never stood up for myself sine Jason.
I turned back to the guys and they looked proud. “You get ice cream!!!” Alex smiled hugging me; I just blushed as everyone slowly started to clap for me. “Hey Alex, my birthday is tomorrow, can you just give me my present early?” I gave him the puppy dog eyes and he looked away. “Fine, one.” Alex sighed. “Sucker!” Bret chuckled. “Yes!” I squealed, I left the cafeteria feeling eyes on me, I just walked home.
I walked into y home, and shut the door back. “Hey dad, mom!” I called but got nothing. I shrugged and went up to my room and got my guitar out and started strumming. It was a song that I really loved, A Day To Remember, Have Faith In Me.
“Have faith in me, Cause there are things that I've seen I don't believe, So cling to what you know and never let go, You should know things aren't always what they seem, I said I'd never let you go, and I never did, I said I'd never let you fall and I always meant it, If you didn't have this chance then I never did, You'll always find me right there, again, I'm going crazy, Cause there are things in the streets I don't believe, So we'll pretend it's alright (pretend it's alright), and stay in for the night, Oh what a world, I'll keep you safe here with me (with me), I said I'd never let you go, and I never did, I said I'd never let you fall and I always meant it, If you didn't have this chance then I never did, You'll always find me right there, again, I said I'd never let you go, and I never did, I said I'd never let you fall and I always meant it, If you didn't have this chance then I never did, You'll always find me right there, again, They've got me on the outside, looking in, But I can't see at all, With the weight of the world on my shoulders, They just wanna see me fall, They've got me on the outside, looking in, But I can't see at all, With the weight of the world on my shoulders, They just wanna see me fall, Have faith in me, I said I'd never let you go, and I never did, I said I'd never let you fall and I always meant it, If you didn't have this chance then I never did, You'll always find me right there, again, I said I'd never let you go, and I never did (Go, Did),I said I'd never let you fall and I always meant it (Fall, Meant It), If you didn't have this chance then I never did, You'll always find me right there, again
I said I'd never let you go, and I never did
I said I'd never let you go, and I never did”
I smiled and sat my guitar back down on my stand for it. I got up and stretched. I looked out my window and saw my brothers arriving home, Bret was with them. I raced down stairs and met them at the door. “Someone is excited to get a present!” Alex chuckled and went to the kitchen and made him a sandwich. “Yes now where is it!?” I smiled jumping up and down. “Well here.” Alex pulled out a box and opened it. It was a collar? “A collar? Is this a races joke?” I chuckled. “Hahaha no! It’s a collar for your mate tomorrow!” Alex chuckled but smirked. “I doubt I will find him, and even if I do, I will reject him.” I sighed and placed the collar back in the box, everyone just gawked.
“You won’t even give him a chance?” Alex gasped, looking sad. “No, I don’t want to take the risk for it to just turn out like Jason.” I shrugged. “You have to give him a chance! He is your mate! You two are meant to spend the rest of your lives together; you were created for each other by the Moon Goddess!” Jake growled. “Oh well, I ju-“Alex stormed out of the room looking mad, and to prove my point he went outside and shifted.
That night, I woke to feeling all hot and bothered. I was sweating bullets and my chest was tight, oh right its my birthday and I am shifting for the first time. “JAKE!! ALEX! DAD! MOM!!” I screamed out and they burst into the room, Dad quickly grabbed me and carried me out back and sat me on the ground. “It burns!!!! GAH!!” I screamed as I felt my bones snap.
