Story so far: A normal day at the HQ of WishGranters and Branwen, a fairy working for the company, chooses a wish to be fulfilled. A child wished for his divorced parents to get back and Branwen wants Evangeline for the case. Evangeline, who was out of the city hunting Nightmares, agrees to visit the HQ reluctantly.

"Edvard. I'm not going to Paris just to rekindle an already dead relationship."

Evangeline stated, clearly and loud enough to gather the attention of the whole office room.

"So I've figured, from that expression on your face." Edvard murmured under his breath and looked around uncomfortably, clearly not happy that everyone was looking at them now, before turning her attention back to Evangeline. He was sitting and Evangeline was standing in front of her, drops of water dripping from her raven hair onto the marbled floor. "I was taking a shower." She had simply said, when Edvard had stared at her hair the moment she had entered the room. The form that was marked with an approval mark was on the desk between them, the only reason the whole office was watching them right now even if they didn't know it yet.

"Well, you have to. You don't get to choose which case you get." He said sternly but in a quiet voice, not wanting to be heard. Evangeline raised a dark eyebrow and even though Edvard was older than her, the boy felt his confidence crumble beneath her bright eyes.

"I mean, the guys at the Approval Centre chose this and stated very clearly that they want /you/ to do it." He tried again, with a small cough.

As if it wasn't her who had intimated her a second ago, Evangeline's expression changed into something that a beggar would use in mere seconds.

"Oh, c'moon Edvard, Paris is a long way from here for a fairy to travel. Wouldn't you miss me?" She said, with a voice full of fake friendliness. The blonde boy rolled his eyes.

"You only know my name because of the name tag."

"That's not the point. I might not know you... But you know me! Don't you?" She inquired, her eyes twinkling.

Yes and no. Everyone knew the fairies sent to fulfil the wishes. They were the stars of the company, the mascots. So yes, he knew Evangeline from the occasional posters hung around the offices to promote and 'motivate' the fairies that did the paperwork. Not that it worked well, but hey, you can't blame the boss for trying.

"Will that make a difference?"

"What if I say I don't want the case?"

"Then children will stop believing in you, of course." Edvard said, with a tint of sarcasm. The woman cast her eyes upwards. Everyone knew the whole "kids not believing in you" meant being fired.

Evangeline sighed with exasperation. Her friendly aura was replaced by a moody one.

"Fine. But the pay check better be worth the trouble." She muttered, glancing at Edvard for a second before taking the form from the table and then turning to leave. With the woman leaving, people around him seemed to lose their interest and went back to their daily tasks. The man let out a small sigh, ruffling his dark hair in relief.
