Chapter 9 - WAKE UP

        Today was the day. The day Lainey was going back to school. Also the first time Calvin had to wake her up, and actually act like a parent. 

              It was 7:45 a.m. when Calvin stuck his head in Lainey's room to wake her up. He hadn't realized until now, how many posters Lainey really had. He stared at the beige walls that were basically plastered with posters, one of which being a huge Leafyishere poster. She had video game posters, band posters, movie posters, everything.

           He then saw a collage of photos on her wall. It had countless pictures of she and her parents. They looked so happy together. He began to feel the slightest bit jealous of her life with her parents, because his parents had never been that close to him. He thought of how lucky she was to have had parents that didn't drink, or do drugs like his parents did. 

         He looked back at lainey who was still fast asleep. Hesitantly, he poked her in the shoulder trying to wake her up. It didnt work. He tried again and again until he became so frustrated that he shook her awake. "OK OK I'M AWAKE MOM, JEEZ" Lainey exclaimed as she hastily sat up in bed.  She quickly realized that it wasn't her mom waking her up, and slightly blushed as she got out of bed. "Oh hey Calvin" Lainey said awkwardly, as he chuckled. "You have to go back to school today, so, um, get ready." Calvin said plainly as he walked out of the room. 

          "Aw man I forgot about that." Lainey muttered annoyed. She quickly got on a boring outfit, ate some cereal for breakfast, and called Calvin to take her to school. "Calvin! You have to take me to school." Lainey said. "Ugh ok..." Calvin replied sluggishly. "Isn't there some bus you can take to school?" 

        "Yeah, but I HATE the bus. Only took one ride to know that it was terrible. That's why my parents drive me- I mean, used to drive me to school." Lainey said getting a bit upset that her parents would never drive her to school anymore. "So you better get used to driving me to school every day, because I AM NOT taking that bus." She said smugly. "Ugh ok.... Get your stuff, and let's get this over with."muttered the lazy Calvin as he waited by the door still in his pajamas. 

         Lainey got her stuff, and they were off to school.

A/n yeah I know, boring and short chapter. But school will hopefully more exciting! THANK YOU AGAIN FOR 400 READS 😘💖
