By midday, they were filled with hunger. They sat under the shade of a gum tree and began to eat their lunch, ham and cheese sandwiches.
"Don't you sit by a tree like every lunch and read at school?" Dan said, starting the conversation.
"Umm... How did you know that...?" Anastacia said startled.
"I see you every day when I play hockey with my friends. You look so peaceful sitting there. The sunlight shining on your stunning...." Dan stopped abruptly, biting his lip and stared off into the trees.
"Stunning what? I'm not stunning Dan... You don't have to be nice to me. It's okay." Anastacia said honestly staring at Dan while he looked out into the distance.
He finally turned his head to face Anastacia, "....your stunning beauty Anastacia. I see you every day." But she just formed a small smile and shook her face at the ground. "If only you knew how beautiful you are Anastacia." Dan whispered to himself.
