Chapter 7

Scorpius' POV

I'm so glad to finally be done with the classes for the day. Now that lessons are over I'm one step closer to seeing Rose.

Silas and I turn the corner around to the Slytherin Common Room. Silas has to yell the password at least seven times before it opens.

When we walk in there are people everywhere, I quickly scan the room to make sure Gwyn isn't in here but to my disappointment she is. I see her sitting with all of the snobby rich Slytherins from our year. They're all incredibly annoying. I try to rush off to our room before Silas sees them and goes over there. But to my disappointment again, he spots them right before we start up the staircase.

"C'mon Scorpius," he smirks, "Let's go talk to the girls."

If I tell I don't want to then he'll make some stupid remark and think something is up with me. There are so many bad things about keeping my relationship a secret. I have to pretend flirt with all the Slytherin girls all the time. I give in and we start to walk over to them.

"When are you going to make a move on Gwyneth, mate?" he asks me.

"I'm not."

"Why? She's totally into you and she's totally hot."

I look up at them again and one of Gwyneth's followers sees me and elbows Gwyn to get her attention. Gwyn looks up at me and smiles. They all sit up a little straighter as well.

"You can sit by me, Malfoy," she says trying to act cool. There's someone sitting on either side of her so I stand there slightly awkwardly as Silas moves in next to one of the others, slinging his arm around her as she giggles. I gag slightly and watch as Gwyn shoots one of the girls sitting next to her a death glare, telling her to move using her eyes. She obeys, looking nervous. I sit in the previous girls spot and the girl squats on the floor next to somebody else.

"So, Malfoy," she starts, "What have you been up to all day?"

I begin to talk but stop and glance around, realizing that all of her minions are staring at me like I'm some kind of God. I hardly like Gwyn as a friend, I think to myself as I imagine all of the endless lies she's probably told them about our relationship that only exists in her head. How did I get myself into this situation?

"Go on, Malfoy, my friends don't bite," she says laughing.

All her friends laugh but I'm just annoyed that she won't stop calling me by my last name.

"Well I went to class, then I went to lunch, then I went back to class, now I'm here," I say as boringly as possible.

"You are so funny, Malfoy," says one of her followers.

"Please, you can call me Scorpius," I say in an extremely monotone voice, but they don't understand my sarcasm.

"Okay, Scorpius," she says, sounding honored. Gwyn's eyes are shooting daggers at the girl that she thinks I'm flirting with.

I glance around the circle, looking at each girl as they smile widely, blush, then fix their hair. I swear all these girls ever do is touch their hair. It looks the same to me. I only love it when Rose touches her hair. She does it when she gets nervous. It's one of her many idiosyncrasies that I admire. Like when she does this adorable giggle and then looks down, blushing. Or when she picks at her always chipped nail polish. She's so beautiful to me.

"Malfoy," Gwyn says, interrupting me from my thoughts, "Malfoy, snap out of it."

"Oh, sorry, what?" I say, as I haven't been paying the slightest attention.
