(this story is always from Maliyah's POV!)
"Maliyah! Wake up!" Isabel, my little sister shouted at me, shaking me violently.
"What do you want Isabel? It's still hella early in the morning, why do you have to wake me up?" I said Vaguely.
"No it's not! It's Monday 8:00! Your going to be late for the first day at middle school!" Isabel said.
I processed what she had said, my eyes opened, then I sprang out of bed, and dashed to Isabel, gave her a hug, then shooed her out. I closed and locked my bedroom door.
I dashed around my room getting ready. I changed my clothes into my usual navy blue sweatpants, a long sleeve, and then my purple sweatshirt. I also slipped on my navy blue and gray Converse. I grabbed my glasses and put them on. I ran around my room finding random books to throw into my bag. Then I came across my knife...
It was terrible. 2 cuts a day, apart of my daily routine ever since 1 of my 2 only friends moved away and is never coming back... I rolled up my sleeve and put the knife against my skin. I quickly cut it through my skin.
Did it hurt? Of course. Did I care? Of course not.
I've been doing this for about 2 1/2 months now. I was used to in. I dabbed the slit with a paper towel so the blood flow would stop, and then rolled my sleeve back down. I put the knife in the front pocket of my bag. I grabbed 2 of my text books off of my bed and my bag.
Then I dashed out of my room to the kitchen and grabbed an apple.
"Have a great day at school baby!" My mom called out to me. I grabbed my phone off my charger, then yelled, "Ok mommy!"
I dashed out of the front door heading tward my school, Harriet Eddy Middle School.
As I was running, I got a text message.
Sabribri: Meet me at the front of the school! I miss you so much!😆
Me: Ok! Be there in about 4 min.! See u then!😋
Sabribri: Mkay, see u then!
I slipped my phone back into my bag.
I turned the corner and tripped and fell.
My glasses fell off my face and I couldn't see anything. I felt around for them.
"I think your looking for these." I heard a males voice in front of me. I looked up but only could see blobs.
"Uh, I sorta can't see you." I said, squinting trying to identify him.
"Here." He slid on my glasses and the image finally came clear.
It was a boy with Black hair, brown eyes, and shorts and a t-shirt. He looked like he would be popular.
"Oh. Hi." I said as I started picking up my books and paper that fell out.
"Here, let me help with that." The boy helped pick up my books and paper.
After we were finished, he stood up and held out his hand to help me up. I took it, and looked down.
"Guess I'll be on my way now. Thank you." I started walking, but to be stopped.
"Wait!" He said as he grabbed my arm. The 1 that I cut this morning.
"Ah!"
"What? What did I do?" He asked.
"Oh, nothing, nothing. What did you need?" I asked smiling as he let go.
"I didn't get your name...?"
"Oh! Maliyah. And you?" I asked, looking at my arm, noticing it started bleeding again. I started getting nervous, because it was bleeding through my sleeves.
