It's dark. The place smells dusty. It's quiet and it creeps me out. Am I alone? What would make me feel better, to be alone or to know that someone is waiting for me to wake up? Yes, I'm awake but if there's anyone there with me, I don't want him or her to know.
I woke up with a dreadful feeling. At first, I was wondering what happened, why my hands are tied. Then, the memories came crashing. Someone abducted me. But, who? And, why? Is this the threat my mother was telling me? God, please help me...Simon, help me...!
Do they really care? Do they even know that I am missing? What have I gotten into?
Aunt Verity... she must be terrified by now. And, Mom...I'm sorry.
I heard the door being opened. And, I stopped breathing...
"I know you're awake." That voice seems familiar. I slowly opened my eyes. Hindi ko masyadong maaninag ang mukha niya dahil nakatalikod siya sa liwanag. Then, he switched on the light inside the room.
"Matt!?" gulat kong tanong. Why? What did I do to him? I sat down even if it really hurts to do so.
"Bakit? Aside for being so arrogant, and tough-talking bitch, you're also a pain in the ass to my girl. And, of course, it's a payback for embarassing some important friends," he said with a smug smile. It doesn't make sense. All of this doesn't make sense. Who are his girl and his 'important friends'?
"You talk too much, Matt." I bet she's his girl. Why was I so slow? Of course, it's Maureen. And, here I thought, she's done with us. Ang tagal niya kasing tumahimik.
I laughed..I laughed? I think I'm going crazy... This is her revenge? Ngayon pa? Kung kailan wala nang pakialam sa akin si Simon?
"What's funny?" nanggagalaiting tanong ni Maureen.
"You want revenge? Isn't it too late for that? Alam mo bang wala na silang pakialam sa akin?" I said.
"You cannot fool us. We're not stupid" sagot ni Maureen. Well, what do I expect from a not-too-bright girl?
"So, how's our guest? Hi, It's nice to meet you again.." Oookay...Now, I'm really terrified. Sino ba naman ang hindi kung ang kaharap mo ay ang lalakeng binato mo ng sapatos?(Remember, the incident where Simon and I got into trouble with the Dark Fall Gang.) So, this is it. Now, I'm sure this is my end... But, not without a fight. Pero alam kong hindi dapat magpadalo-dalos. I need to think.
The three were just talking in whisper in the corner. I couldn't hear what they were saying. Their faces look grim. Then, the Dark Fall Gang member, whose name is Carlo, went out with a warning glance at me.
"Don't let her out of your sight Maureen. You know she always brings trouble," Matt said and also left the room. Now, it's just me and Maureen.
"The Black ShAdows are coming. Huwag ka munang magsaya. Hindi pa kami tapos sa'yo...But, don't worry, Simon won't be harmed. But, he's going to be mine. Mine, Audrey? Naiintindihan mo ba?" Maureen said agitatedly in front of me. Crazy woman! Maureen is taller than me. But, I know she's weaker. I had a self defense training but that was years ago. And, I hated my dad for forcing me to have the training. Pero, sapat na kaya ang nalalaman ko para matakasan si Maureen? Hay, bahala na. Basta sabi ng instructor ko noon, all it takes is right timing... Hintay lang ng tamang pagkakataon, Audrey.
Hindi mapakali si Maureen. Siguro hindi na makapaghintay na dumating si Simon. Are they really coming? For me? Or, something else is at stake? After what they've shown me these past days, talaga bang pupuntahan pa nila ako dito. For sure, alam nilang patibong lang ito. Bakit pa sila pupunta dito? Maybe they just feel guilty kasi sila ang dahilan, Simon and their gang, kung bakit ako nadamay.
Hindi ko tuloy alam kung saan ako mas natatakot, kung anon'ng puwedeng gawin nina Matt at Maureen pati na ang Carlong 'yon sa akin o ang ang nakahandang patibong para kina Simon?
Nainip siguro sa pagbabantay sa akin kaya lumabas din si Maureen.
"Hindi 'yon ang usapan natin, Carlo. Gusto ko siyang turuan ng leksyon pero hindi ako mamamatay tao. And, we should let the girl go." Narinig kong nag-uusap si Carlo at Matt sa labas ng room kung nasaan ako. Wait, did he just say that they have a plan to kill someone? Is it Simon? They must hate him so much...Simon... How can I help him?
"Audrey, you're in danger, too. You must think of a way to escape them first," I said to myself. Nahawaan na yata ako ng kabaliwan ni Maureen at kinakausap ko na ang sarili ko.
But, wait, I heard Matt mentioned about letting me go? Baka naman hindi talaga siya kasing sama nina Carlo. Maaasahan ko kaya ang tulong niya? Sinubukan ko ulit kalasin ang tali pero maghigpit talaga ang pagkatali. Nangangawit na rin ang braso ko. But, all I'm thinking right now is the danger we're facing, the danger Simon is in.
Oops! Ang larawang ito ay hindi sumusunod sa aming mga alituntunin sa nilalaman. Upang magpatuloy sa pag-publish, subukan itong alisin o mag-upload ng bago.
I felt happy to hear that they are coming for me. But, now, I hoped that they wouldn't come anymore. If they would be in danger because of me, I want them out of it.
"They're here." I heard Maureen said to Matt and Carlo. I was wondering how many members of Dark Fall Gang are here. I hope Simon didn't come without men. I'm sure Victor, Russ, Jonas and Calan are with him. Pero kung maraming members ng Dark Fall Gang ang nandito, na hindi malayong mangyari, delikado ang grupo ni Simon.
"Get the girl," Carlo said. Maureen entered the room with a evil smile.
"It's showtime," she said.
"Didn't you know that Carlo planned to kill Simon?" I asked hoping she'll change her mind kung malaman niyang nanganganib ang lalakeng kinababaliwan niya.
"Kill Simon? Of course not. Carlo won't do that. He promised me." Baliw ba talaga 'tong babaeng 'to? Paano kaya mapupunta sa kanya si Simon? Ano'ng akala niya kay Simon? Puwedeng i-program para siya ang magustuhan? 'Yon ba ang ineexpect niyang gawin ni Carlo?
We are in a vacant warehouse. I saw the Dark Fall Gang members and I felt terrified. There are about 70 of them. Pero wala si Carlo. Where is he? What is he planning?
Matt is in front of the group and he looks agitated. Then, I saw Simon and his gang... And, I can't help to sigh in relief. Hindi naman nalalayo ang bilang nila sa DFG (Dark Fall Gang). Medyo mas konti pero at least marami din sila. Simon, and the other four looked at me with a grim expression while approaching.
"Simon..." I whispered. Sa maikling panahon na magkakasama kami, napalapit na talaga ako sa kanila. And, I couldn't bear to lose any of them; I couldn't bear to see them harmed, especially if it's because of me.
"Pakawalan n'yo na si Audrey. Kung anuman ang kailangan n'yo, huwag n'yo siyang idamay," narinig kong sabi ni Simon. They are just 2 meters away from us. Everyone is tensed and preparing to fight.
What can I do? I need to do something. Then, I saw Carlo pointing a gun to Simon's direction in a hidden corner.
"Simon!" I ran toward Simon.
"No!" he screamed and the last thing I heard.... was a gunshot.
