Chapter Six, Change is Coming

Carlisle and Esme were walking through the gardens of Volterra thinking over all that had happened the previous day and how they can prove themselves to the Volturi leaders. "Do you think she is okay?" Esme asked referring to the girl they had met for a second time yesterday. It was quite a wonder to see as she seemed to have all the vampires in the Volturi Coven wrapped around her finger and she didn't even realise it. "I think so my love. She seems to be a sweet little thing and they all seem to care for her a great deal. I've never seen them all united together in all the time I've known them." Carlisle mused thoughtfully.

They were brought out of their thoughts by the sweet laughter they heard yesterday to see Ardelle flying around on her broom several feet above the ground and alone in the gardens which was a strange sight as usually at least Jane and Alec were with her, as she chased after a small golden winged ball as two medium sized brown balls chased after her attempting to hit her but she dodged them expertly at the last moment. She suddenly turned her broom into a steep dive her eyes fixed on the ball in front of her coming closer and closer to the ground. "Carlisle she's going to crash!" Esme yelled in fear. As they were about to race to her to save her she levelled her broom up a foot from the ground standing up right on the broom her arm outstretched as she snatched the ball out of the air with a happy cry as she jumped off the broom landing in a catlike position.

She stood up placing the golden ball into the large brown crate in front of her and as she was about to send the brown balls into the crate a letter appeared in front of her causing her to lose her concentration after reading the contents and for one of the balls to slam into her left arm with a sickening crack that echoed around the gardens along with her cry of pain. Carlisle and Esme gasped as she fell to the floor rushing over to her placing the balls into the crate before they could damage her further.

(In the throne room several minutes earlier).

The four Lords of the Volturi sat on the throne dealing with an issue between two covens when Sirius gasped as he felt the charm he'd placed on Ardelle go off, she was injured. "Get out!!" He hissed at the two covens leaping to his feet and his eyes as black as his name. Hearing what the new leader had done to Carlisle yesterday they soon scarped and quickly. "Brother?" Aro asked curious what had caused the sudden change in him.
"Ardelle is injured the charm I placed on her just went off!" Sirius said as he sped out of the room the three other leaders and the guard all running after him. They had to have all the guard in with them while dealing with the two covens and now their severely regretted it.

"What happened?" Sirius said as he rushed to his goddaughter's side the two old members of Emmett's coven with her. Upon seeing the enraged leader Carlisle rushed to assure him. "Lord Sirius we did not do anything she was on the broom." Carlisle proceeded to tell him what they had seen happen. Sirius nodded tersely before turning back to his goddaughter as the others arrived along with Emmett and Riley. "Siri." Ardelle whispered holding her uninjured arm out to him as he carefully gathered her in his arms as he sat her in his lap running his fingers soothingly through her hair.

"What happened?" Emmett asked panicked looking at Carlisle his red eyes turning black. Before Esme and Carlisle could calm down their son Ardelle spoke in tears. "He's coming Siri. He knows where I am!"
"What are you talking about dear one?" Aro asked dreading the answer.
"I was playing Quidditch and was about to put the bludgers away after catching the snitch when I got a letter from Neville, one of the bludgers hit me in the arm breaking it. It said Dumbledore knew where I was and was coming to get me. Someone's betrayed us!" Ardelle said holding her hand to her uncle as Sirius fixed her arm with a wave of his wand.

Once Aro let go of his nieces hand he let out a roar of anger his eyes as black as night as he shook with anger. "Everyone into the throne room now! No one is allowed into this castle and no one is allowed out! Felix, Demetri, if anyone tries to leave kill them!" Aro ordered. Felix and Demetri nodded as they rushed off to do as asked as everyone made their way into the throne room Ardelle holding on to her dads and Sirius' hands tightly, Emmett and Riley stood in front and behind their mate ready to attack and protect her.

"What exactly does this letter say?" Caius asked his niece.
"Neville told me his gran had been called to a Wizengamot meeting by Dumbledore he said he had one of his followers following me to where I was staying and infiltrate the castle I was in he told them I was in the home of a large number of vampires, the Volturi and they had obviously kidnapped and brainwashed me into staying." Ardelle scoffed with a roll of her eyes. "She said that he was making plans with the Ministry to come get me and that Lucius Malfoy looked like he was formulating his own plans. After she got home she told Neville to write to me so we would be warned."
"Lucius? He's probably going to tell Bellatrix!" Sirius growled. "So now we have to contend with my deranged cousin as well?!"

"Felix who is missing?" Marcus asked when Felix and Demetri came back into the room their faces grave. They were still trying to get back into their Lords good graces after what had happened on the plane they wanted to be with their niece again. "Sanguine my Lord." Demetri answered.
"He's one of Dumbledore's. He has spies everywhere there was whispers before I turned I never thought they were true." Sirius realised with a groan. "He always put the image to the public he is a pure light wizard when he is anything but, he will do anything and I mean anything to get what he wants no matter who is hurt or killed along the way."
"Demetri track him down and kill him. Once my daughter is safe then you and Felix will be allowed near her again." Marcus ordered. Demetri bowed thanking him and rushed off to track this vampire down.

"You have broken every single rule we have put in place to keep our race safe all for the sake of a blood singer. Yes, a blood singer you forget Marcus can see bonds between everyone and the only bond that human has with your coven is that of a blood singer." Aro told Carlisle and Esme. "There is no mate bond between Edward and the human as they would have you believe."

"I'm sorry Aro I didn't know of this we have been lied to please what can we do?" Carlisle asked shocked that Edward and Bella had manipulated them. They were now seeing their true colours it seemed as he shared a look with Esme. Emmett and Riley glared at their old coven leaders as it was obvious Edward and Bella were manipulating them they just chose not to see it.

"Carlisle, if you wish for you, your mate and coven to be safe once more you must prove to me. To us that you can be trusted. You will get your coven, all the friends of every member of your coven here and you will get them here now!" Caius ordered.

"If you want to live you will get them all here as Caius said and you will fight with us to save and protect my daughter." Marcus informed them. "If she survives and if there are no more remarks about her from Edward and the human stays in Washington. Then and only then will we contemplate your survival."

"Call them then." Emmett hissed. "You heard my mate is in danger so call them!" Carlisle quickly got out his phone and called his friends while Esme called Jasper letting him know everything that has happened and what was going to happen making sure he knew what Bella and Edward has done and that their survival depends on the outcome of this war and if Edward can behave. Once they hanged up preparations went under way to ready themselves for the battle that was to come.
