Chapter Fourteen, Epilogue

It's been several months since Emmett and Riley found out Ardelle was pregnant. Five months in fact. With Ardelle being a witch her magic was able to help balance out the vampire gene, along with the potions she took daily since returning from her honeymoon. As a witch her body was able to stand the fast growing pregnancy along with the potions, her pregnancy would be fast only lasting six months instead of nine. That would have been the case if it was one baby or possibly two, three at a push.

But Ardelle was in fact, carrying quads, two sets of twins. One set was Emmett's biological children and the other was Riley's. With the nature of her pregnancy Ardelle was taking double the amount of potions just to help get that extra bit as the babies could be born any day now, as the body couldn't hold the amount of babies for long. When they had found out they were ecstatic, over joyed. But Emmett and Riley along with all the Volturi were concerned for Ardelle and her health, but Remus assured them she would be fine with the potions and her magic. He assured the Volturi the babies would not pose a threat or reveal the secret as once they were born they would grow at a normal human pace.

Which was a great relief to the three original Kings as they had heard of hybrids who killed the mother during birth as they were too strong but also grew fast once they were born as well. They hadn't wanted anything to happen to Ardelle or that could attract attention to her. After that a had rushed around buying four times the amount they had originally brought when they discovered the amount of babies Ardelle was carrying. They had decided that if any vampires visited Volterra they would be restricted to the throne room and throne room only, if they had to stay for the duration of their visit they would stay outside of the city, be escorted to and from Volterra by Felix and Demetri ensuring the safety of Ardelle and her children.

Which would always be paramount. Now though Ardelle has just reached her fifth month of pregnancy meaning the babies could be born at any moment. For the last few days she was hardly left alone just in case she went into sudden labour. She was in her room with Heidi, Jane, Maggie and Tia the youngest of the Volturi and having a girls day as they relaxed, did each other's nails and hair but mainly giving Ardelle a back and neck rub as she had been uncomfortable and in pain all day. Emmett and Riley has been barred from their room all day by Jane and Heidi meaning they had to train improving their strength and speed.

Not that two really minded as it endured they were strong and fast snitch to protect their mate. Remus had joined as a fifth leader of the Volturi and often sat in on meetings and council, otherwise he spent his time either training gaining control over his werewolf and vampire side, reading it spending time with Ardelle.

Ardelle dropped the red nail varnish she'd been holding as she painted Jane's nails as a much stronger and longer lasting pain shit through her stomach making her cry out. The nail varnish would have spilt all over her bed if it wasn't for Jane's quick reflexes.
"Sister, are you alright?" Jane asked concerned quickly placing the top on the vail varnish and placing it on the bedside table, moving closer to her sister.
"Ellie?" Heidi asked worried as they all vamped closer to her.
"I think the babies are coming!" Ardelle cried out in pain squeezing the quilt beneath her. Maggie quickly left to get her mother who had been a midwife before she was turned. In matter of seconds Maggie returned with Siobhan who looked over Elle before barking orders to the others in the room.

"Tia go let the Kings know so the younger vamps can be kept away! And let her mates know! Maggie, Heidi we need warm water, cloths and lots of fresh towels! And the potions for the babies and Elle from Remus! In fact fetch Remus! Jane I need you to calm Elle down a bit offer her your hand!" Siobhan ordered as everyone rushed out or around the room grabbing what they were tasked to do. Once they had finished they helped calm Elle down or helped set up for when the babies were born and Remus coming to helped set things up getting all the potions out of the bag that they'll need.

Six hours later Ardelle was giving birth to her last child, a little girl who was much smaller than the others but as Remus checked her over she was in perfect health especially after she had been given her potions. Heidi carefully cleaned off the baby girl dressing her in a happy, a light pink baby grow and a blanket placing her in the cot next to her twin brother. "She's gorgeous cub, they all are. The first set of twins born are Emmett's and the second set are Riley's. What are you going to call them?" He asked smiling happily as his cub who was now freshly showered, in a clean nightie and the bed changed.

"Can I hold them?" Elle asked referring to her last set of twins who she hasn't had a cuddle with yet. She got to have a lot of cuddle time with the oldest set of twins as there was an hour gap between the two set of twins. She got to feed them, cuddle them and kiss them. "Of course cub." Remus sand kissing her forehead as he handed the little girl over as Heidi handed the little boy over who was dressed in a lighter blue then his brother's. "I'm so proud of you cub." Remus told her placing the other two in between her legs so they could bond with their mother as well, the oldest two were dressed in a dark blue and a stripy dark pink baby grows.

Emmett's son was the spitting image of him and had his and Elle's hair colour, but his more messy curls and Elle's green eyes. The little girl looked exactly like her mother, and had red hair like her grandmother and blue eyes like her father. Riley's little boy had Elle's hair colour, looked like his mother but had his brown eyes. His daughter looked like him with her dark blonde hair, Elle's curls and her green eyes. They were all beautiful in her eyes and she loved them so much. "Can you get Emmett and Riley please and then I'll say the babies names?" Ardelle asked someone politely.

"There's no need they're outside the door." Siobhan laughed. "Probably about ready to break the door down. Boys you can come in!" Siobhan laughed and as she did that the door slammed open banging on the room as the pair raced into the room. But due to the door banging off the stonewall it startled the babies awake making the four of them scream and start crying. Ardelle glared at them as she tried to soothe the two in her arms while Remus and Jane tried to soothe the other two. After a while they slowly calmed down, Remus and Jane placing them back on the bed as Elle fed the other two only when they fast asleep after they'd been winded did she look at her two mates.

"Sorry love we didn't mean to startle and scare them." Emmett and Riley apologised together feeling terrible that they had scared their children. After giving them another firm glare Ardelle nodded her glare turning into a loving smile.
"Come meet your children." She smiled nodding her head to the space next to her on the bed. "The ones in between my legs are yours Emmett they're James Emmett McCarthy and Iris Mae McCarthy, our first set of twins. The ones in my arms are yours Riley Sirius Owen Biers and Emmaline Lily Biers." Ardelle introduced them and everyone to her children.

"They're gorgeous and absolutely beautiful just like their mother." Riley said leaning forwards to kiss Elle lovingly on the lips and then kissed children's heads softly, Emmett doing the same once Riley had moved out of the way. They were both so happy and touched that she had included their parents or their names in the names of their children. For the rest of the evening they were joined by the rest of their family as they bonded with the new members of their family each getting a cuddle and kiss. Surprisingly Caius was the one who wanted a cuddle the most with the babies or Ardelle along with Marcus and Aro.

The three Kings' frozen hearts have truly been melted by the presence of Ardelle and now by her children in their lives. Now they could enjoy the peace that would forever be peaceful in their lives. The Coven of vampires existence had forever been changed by the arrival of a witch at the age of six, watching grow into a wonderful woman they see before them. Who had brought more joy, laughter, love and light into their existence and they wound truly be forever grateful.
