Chapter 9

Hayden Panettiere as Claire!

Katherine's pov

For a whole week, things had been good. Great even.

Aidan had not come home drunk once and he had not gotten angry either... It was weird but good weird.

It was almost like the first year we were together, just without all the passionate love and that.

Harry hadn't tried to call even once, but that didn't bother me... Right?

My feelings towards Harry were just so... Twisted. And he himself was also quite the same.

I had left the apartment to go shopping with Claire for the day, Aidan checked on me at some points during the day by texting.

When we finally left the last store to go and eat at a restaurant I was sighing in relief as we sat down.

"Thank god, I don't think I could've kept standing any longer" Claire laughed as she put her bags underneath the table.

"Yeah, me neither" I smiled as we got menus from a waitress.

"So, when are we going back to the boys?" Claire asked with a wide smile and lifted her right eyebrow towards me.

"Oh, I don't think we will..." I admitted since my last meeting with Harry did, to say the least, not end well.

"I definitely think we should, stop being like that!" She whined as I put down my menu and the same waitress came back.

"A lasagna" I said and smiled.

"I'll have the pasta bolognese" Claire said and the waitress went away yet again.

"Come on, Kath! We have to!" She continues her ranting and I sigh quietly.

"Niall even texted me and asked when we were going to make an appearance." Her voice had lost the entusiasm and was instead filled with an innocent touch.

"Oh, so you and Niall have been talking?" I asked, dodging the subject.

Claire glared at me as I said so, "Yes. But that was not the point" She said defiantly.

I shook my head, "I just don't think it's a good idea for me, but you do what you want to do." I told her and just as I did, our food arrived and we started eating.

"But I want you there as well, and I know you have Aidan, but it seems like Harry really likes you and I-" She stopped as I choked on my lasagna.

She thinks Harry likes me?

Is she literally out of her mind? He can't.

"Absolutely not, he doesn't. Believe me" I said as I was done coughing.

Claire lifted one of her eyebrows again before deciding to not argue with me and instead eat of her food.

When we finished we paid and walked out of the restaurant to grab a taxi. When we finally got hold of one we both got in and started going down the street.

"Niall just texted me saying there's going to be a party at Liam's tonight" Claire said without looking at me.

"Claire" I warned.

"Oh, fine! I'll go by myself then." She shrugged her shoulders as she sent something to him before locking her phone.

I got out of the cab as we reached my stop, I hugged Claire for a long time.

"Thank you for today, I love you" I said and squeezed her one more time before releasing.

"I love you too" She smiled wide and then they drove off and I went into the apartment to find Aidan on the sofa.

"Hi" I said and took off my shoes and jacket.

"Hey" He said with his eyes on the tv.

"Have you eaten?" He then asked and turned to me as I walked into the living room.

"Yeah, I ate with Claire" I explain and smile.

He returns the smile and turn to the tv again.

"Come here" He said and I pad over to the sofa and sit down next to him. I settle in and his arm rests on behind my back.

We watch the tv in comfortable silence, but I can't help but wonder how long this will last...

I wake up on the sofa by my phone vibrating in my lap.

Aidan is not in the living room anymore I notice as I sit up and look around.

I got a text message on my phone.

Claire

"Come on, I'll pick you up in ten? xx Please!"

I sigh before getting up and walking in to the kitchen where Aidan is sitting at the table with a plate of food in front of him.

"So... I was going to sleep at Claire's tonight" I start and bite my lip nervously. "Is that okay?" I add and look at him.

"Yeah, sure. Why not?" He said calmly, making me very surprised.

"Really? Great!" I exclaim and run into the bedroom and pull on a pair of skinny light blue jeans and a black blouse. I quickly touch up my mascara and respond to Claire with a fine as I pull on my black vans and brush my hair.

I leave the apartment with a bye to Aidan and leave in Claire's car.
