A/N: Quick update, am I right? I just had an idea for this chapter so I thought Why should I make you all wait? Anyways, how y'all liking the new cover? Sexy isn't it. It was made by the one and only SnowxFlake14 so all credit goes to her. If you need a cover for your book, she's your girl. Check out her stuff, it's great! Cheers for 12k btw. I quite like this chapter for some reason. It was fun and nice to write. Also I'm away this week so probably no updates.

One more thing: I dyed a streak of my hair purple.

That's all.

Normal POV
And so the next day, which was a Friday, Peter, Sirius, James and Y/N started the Animagus treatment. Getting up one hour before everyone else, they huddled in the common room, sitting their favourite chairs as Sirius took out the Mandrake leaves.

"Right," Sirius started, "The first step to becoming an Animagus is holding a Mandrake leaf in your mouth for one whole month. Here," Sirius passed around one Mandrake leaves so each person was holding one frail leaf in their hands.

"Are you sure this is one of the steps?" said Y/N, sounding sceptical and turning over the leaf in her hands.

"Of course!" Sirius exclaimed passively, "Now, put the leaves in your mouth on three..."

"One," said Peter.

"Two," said Y/N.

"Three," said James, smiling as his plan came into action.

People were shoved into walls as laughter and shouting echoed around the corridor. Four figures, almost shadowed from the crowds of loud teenagers, were the only ones he saw. A short boy, a girl, a shoulder-length haired boy, and another boy with messy black hair. He weaved in and out of a few Ravenclaws, then some Hufflepuffs, but his attempts to reach then went in vain. Accepting defeat, Remus made his way down flights of stairs and corridors until he was outside.

Friday, and it was break. Remus was on his own after being unable to reach his friends in the hectic corridors. As he walked along a path caused by erosion, he took in the cool October air and listened to the mindless laughter of some nearby girls.

Deciding to read a page or two of his current book, Remus made his way down to a tree by the lake. He had seen Y/N come down here a lot. Remus sat on the cold grass, leaning against the tree as the soft wind grew colder and brisker.

He tried to read, but couldn't concentrate. For out of the corner of his eye he saw the Whomping Willow. Which reminded him of things. Which reminded him of how it all started. Sighing as flashbacks to his five year old self came to his mind, he packed away his book and stood up. Adjusting his tie, he left the tree by the river as the giant squad waved it's tentacle at him.

Remus decided to take a walk around the grounds, for break was almost over. As he walked along the path, his mind drifted back to when he was five...

He remembered the attack so well.

He was sleeping.

He was being attacked.

His life changed forever.

Remus thought of this often. More than people knew.

Why me? Why not, I don't know, just someone else? Why do I have to be a bloody werewolf? And why do I have to go it alone? Ugh, what month is it? Oh yeah, October. I've only got this week and then I'll be a... Ugh what's the point anymore. No no no, I sound selfish...stop it Remus...I wonder what Y/N would think of the real me? Who am I kidding, she'd hate me. She wouldn't accept me. She doesn't even notice me...maybe it's best just the boys knowing about my condition...I want to tell her so much, but I can't...

The school bell signalling the end of break rang. Feeling rather depressed, Remus Lupin made his way down to Care of Magical Creatures.

Well, at least it's Friday. Only two more classes to go, half day. Thanks f-

The Autumn wind continued to blow through his camel hair as he waited outside for the rest of the class to arrive. Two words repeated in his head as he watched figures walk down the hill towards him:

Why me.

*

"Ere 'e is!" James exclaimed.

James had just spotted Remus Lupin; the guy he had been searching for all break. He smirked as he walked down the hill with his other friends, all of whom had a leaf in their mouth. James was still figuring out how to talk properly with a strange, sticky tasting leaf in his mouth, so his speech was rather impaired. Although he wasn't the only one; Y/N, Sirius and Peter were all talking with difficulty.

" 'EMUS!" Sirius yelled, waving at his best friends.

"What's going on with his voice?" Remus thought, smirking.

The four had finally reached Remus, looking rather peculiar; Sirius looked a bit uncomfortable, and was a tad paler than usual. Peter's expression was a mixture of ill and awkward. Y/N looked as though she was going to gag (or throw up) at any minute. On the contrary, James looked very at ease, although he definitely had something in his large mouth. Remus was suspicious.

"Um, you lot okay?" He asked.

Y/N gave a very unconvincing nod.

"What are you eating, Prongs?" Remus asked, still unconvinced about their strange behaviour.

"Oh, you know...Just a Mandrake leaf. The usual." He laughed, and Remus could fine well see a small, frail leaf sitting on top of his tongue.

"Wh-"

"Good morning class! I assume you are all here for Care Of Magical Creatures? You know my name, so let's get on with the lesson, shall we?" Professor exclaimed, sounding a bit too excited for a lesson.

Remus swore.

"Language, Mr Lupin," Professor growled.
