Vanessa’s P.O.V

“Niall said he’d be ready in five minutes.” Ariana shouts from her side of the dorm.

“I’m already done,” I say as I walk out of the bathroom applying mascara to the top lashes.

Ariana stopped what she was doing and rushed over to me. “You look sexy, turn around!” she exclaimed as she clapped her hands.

“You think so?” I smiles as I playfully strutted in circles.

“You better not have any boys come to the dorm tonight, better yet follow us back here.” She smiles as she continues to brush her hair.

“Please, I wouldn’t attract any boys even if I wanted to, I’m like a repellant. “ before she can respond to me there’s a nock at the door.

“I got this,” Ariana says as she spins on her heels and rushes to the door. Niall greets her with a long lasting kiss.

In all honestly, I envy her right now. Not because she has Niall, but because she’s in a happy relationship. She’s not busy wondering if Niall is cheating on her or not. She knows he’d never do such a thing and he will never try to hurt her or break her heart.

I should’ve stayed with Niall instead of running off with Liam. He’s hurt me so much over the last couple of weeks but I can’t seem to let him go. He always seems to know what to say to make me come back into his arms and everything is instantly perfect. Only for a couple of days. Then everything becomes dreadful.

There are always secrets and arguments. I don’t recall a time I started one, I’ve told him everything about me. Things that nobody even know about. Why can’t he be just as open as I am? We could be together right now if he would tell me everything. Though I also fear that someone better than me will come along and he’ll leave me for them.  Emily is prettier than me. Melissa makes me look like a doormat.

“Nessa? You ready?” Ariana turns to me.

“Oh, yeah.” I exit my thoughts and grab my purse from the table.

We reached the frat in less than ten minutes. There’s flashing lights and music blasting through the opened door and windows. The front yard is completely trashed with toilet paper and red cups. Is this even acceptable for a frat house?

There are lots of people spread amongst the front yard, however I can’t make out their faces due to the pitch-black sky that lays over us like a blanket. I make my way over to the door with Ariana clenching Niall’s arm by my side. I stumble into someone as soon as I turn the corner.

“Shit, sorry,” I say as I grab the hand that comes into my view to help me up. When I’m on my feet I brush off my pants and alter my clothes.

“Long time so see,” a familiar face smiles at me. When I see his face instant flashbacks run through my mind.

“Yeah, what’s up?” I smile.

“Nothing. I didn’t expect you to be here. Where’s your boyfriend?” the disgust is clear in his voice.

“He’s not my boyfriend,” I try to hide my frown with a laugh. But where is Liam? He could be in England still, or America. Either way he won’t know where I am. Hopefully.

He might be happy that I’m no longer bothering him anymore. He probably had a girlfriend already. Maybe forming a family of his own. I feel a bit of pain in my chest. Just thinking about him with someone else makes me agitated. Am I becoming jealous like him? It might have rubbed off on me. I know I left him in England by himself, but I still don’t want him to be with someone else.
