Chapter Seventeen
"'No matter what the species, men are men.'" –Jasmine, Aladdin
November slid into December and the days turned bitterly cold. Danny wished for slightly warmer Californian winters as snow began to set in. Her life had settled into a rhythm of school, singing, family, friends, and trips to Never Land.
In Never Land, it was always sunny. Danny and Peter were currently tucked away in a lagoon. They'd swum under a massive waterfall to where a small cave was hidden away, and were making out. Danny let her hands roam over Peter's stomach and traced his abs. "We should go back to the hideout," Peter managed to breathlessly eke out between kisses.
"Why?" She gasped.
"Hook. Besides, I'm cold." She had to agree with him there.
Once they were back in the safety of the hideout, dry and changed, they resumed making out where they had left off-on a couch this time, much more comfortable than wet rock. Danny let her hands roam Peter's chest underneath his shirt again. He was perfect. He temporarily stopped kissing her and lifted his shirt over his head, letting it fall to the floor. He scooped Danny up in his arms and flew to his room, shutting the door behind him.
"Peter...Nothing below the border..."
"I know. I just don't want Tink to walk in. I like my girlfriends alive." She kissed him in reply. After a few more minutes of making out, Peter's hands drifted to the hem of her shirt. Their eyes met, and she nodded. Thank God she had a pretty and lacy pink Victoria's Secret bra on. He lifted her shirt over her head and her purity ring glinted in the light. As if she needed any more of a reminder to slow down.
She felt slightly embarrassed as she watched Peter watching her. Danny wasn't Alexia or Katie. She wasn't even Sophie. Peter was only her second serious boyfriend. "You're perfect." Peter resumed kissing her. While his lips were on her collarbone, she issued an ultimatum, because she herself had already started to forget. "The pants stay on."
Tink swept into the room. "Peter, we need to check up on Ry," She stopped dead in the doorway.
"Ever heard of knocking, Tink?" Peter asked. Danny flushed. They'd been in a, well, rather compromising position when the fairy barged in. A strange look crossed the fairy's face and she flew out of the room faster than Danny had ever seen.
"Leaving in a few minutes!" Tink yelled from outside. Peter straightened up and went in search of his shirt. Lying on his bed, Danny shook her head slowly. He returned in a moment, tugging the shirt over his head.
"She still hasn't accepted it, has she?" She tossed Peter his leather jacket and got off the bed.
Peter checked Tink wasn't in the doorway before responding. "Not really. She pretends she doesn't care, but every time you leave she tries to convince me to break up with you." He ran his hands through his hair. "It's exhausting, really." He picked up his cell phone from where it was on the desk and turned towards her. "I just don't know what to say anymore."
Danny slipped into her Hollister shirt and hoodie and redid her fishtail braid. "Oh, Peter. I honestly don't know what to do, either. There's really nothing we can do, except break up and move me back to the States." A look of pure horror crossed his face. "I'm only kidding!"
A half smile crossed his face. "Don't joke like that."
"Peter! We have to go!" Tink yelled crossly.
"Come on. Let me introduce you to Ry. You'll like him." Danny snatched up her iPhone and MAC lipstick and followed him out. Tink was waiting in the foyer for them, changing the color of her nail polish with a snap of her fingers. She settled on a bright sunny yellow and looked up.
