School had finally finished. Elsie told me to meet me by her locker. So I scrambled threw the sea of people to get to her. I finally made it. Looking at her from a distance. She was putting her things into her locker before she closed it. She saw me and waved and I ran over.

"Are you ready?" She asked with excitement. I shook my head "absolutely!" She smiled "then come on little bird." She exclaimed before we ran off making our way to her car.

.....

We had walked around the mall for hours. My feet were killing me. But I was having fun. Elsie wanted to go to one more store. I agreed and we were off.

Elsie swore she knew exactly were the store was. But here we were, thirty minutes and we still haven't found it. It wouldn't surprise me of we were on the wrong side of the mall. Or if the store had closed years ago and she just forgot.

"It's around here somewhere, ah ha!" She exclaimed. I looked at the store. Really? Elsie wants to go to hot topic? "You've shopped here before?" She once again looked at me like I had slapped a baby. "Oh heavens no. But I thought you might like it." That's sweet. But she could've told me and saved is twenty minutes. I know my way here like the back of my hand.

We walked in and Elsie looked like a deer in the headlights. Was she scared? I grabbed her hand and she jumped threw herself. "Hey it's just me. They don't bite." I laughed. She readjusted herself and waked in "I knew that."

We walked threw the isles looking at different things. I picked up a top when I saw Elsie dancing. "What the hell are you doing." There was no music yet she danced. "Dancing, duh." I laughed "why?" She smiled continuing to dance "life's too short to not dance whenever you feel like it."

.....

I never felt like a Barbie doll. But Elsie grey was changing that. She put me in everything in this store it felt like. I'd hear her squeal and knew another outfit was coming.

She handed me a black dress and I pulled it on. I didn't look bad in it just, my arms. The scars and fresh wounds made me want to crawl in a hole and die. I opened the door hiding my arms behind my back.

Elsie turned to me her face lighting up. "Oh my gosh you look beautiful!" I smiled and thanked her. She said if I didn't buy it she would and would shove me in it. As entertaining as that sounds, I think I'll save her the trouble and buy it. We checked out. And left.

I spent the night at her house. Her family was wonderful. You could tell where she gets her charm from and beauty. Her mother and brother were amazing. It only made me dread going home even more. But all good things come to an end I guess. But this is a good thing. That I'll make last.

...........

It had been months since I met Elsie. Months since she came to this school. Months since we became friends and months since I felt alone.

Over the last six months we had grown close. We seem to spend every day together. It's gotten to the point where I walk into their house yell "I'm here" and eat their food. They've grown accustomed to it. They expect it, and accept it.

I finally feel at home. And I love it. No more fighting with my dad. No more screaming with my mom. I go there so rarely it's unreal but I don't think they notice. But I mean I'm not complaining.

This is a good thing.
