SHARD (A Sci-Fi Fantasy Story)

Chapter Three

I walked through the pavements of the sidewalk infront of our house and opened the fence I made my way through our front yard and onto our porch. I opened he door to our house and found my mom sitting on the couch infront of the t.v. and on her phone. I snuck my way behind the coach quietly and covered the eyes of my mother I saw on her phone tat she was scrolling through her facebook account. She squealed from my sudden action knowing already that it was me. 

"Ciara I know its you..And I'm hungry so if you don't removed your hands away from my face I'll eat it"
she jokingly said. I giggled and removed my hands from her " Yeah me too..". We made our way to our dinning room and my mom placed my plate and hers on the table. While we were eating our dinner my mother asked why I was late " I uhm I went to Meredith's because we've been paired up in science and we needed to report about something tomorrow,yeah" I replied..ugh! I hate lying to her..I know she wouldn't believe me even if i told her the truth. "But you don't have science tomorrow, I saw your class schedule while I was cleaning your room" she stated. "oh did I say tomorrow,I meant we're gonna report it the next day but our teacher is gonna collect the soft copy tomorrow" I lied again..Ugh!!!.."Oh Okey" she said and continued eating her meal, I did also.

After eating dinner I greeted goodnight to my mom and went upstairs to my bedroom. I removed my sneakers and placed them under the bed. I tried to lay on my bed and slowly drift to sleep but somehow I just can't. The fact that I just met not one,not two but four aliens from a different dimension and made a deal to help them with the fact that i only knew them the same day. What did I just got myself into.

I decided to write this in my diary..well its not exactly a diary where you record all the things that happened everyday its more like a journal of the things that happened in my life that are important,strange and unforgettable stuff.

Dear Diary,

     Today was a strange and unforgettable day , I've met people from other dimension. It might not be as I expected it to be but atleast I had the opportunity to meet them. Another stuff has been crossed out of my bucket list (Meet a person from another dimension). Another thing is that I've made a deal with them that I'll be accompanying them wherever on Earth the shard will be and try to bring it back to there dimension..I don't know if my journey with them will be over as soon as the shard has left earth or if they've already found it..I sure hope not. But we'll never know until I take the step to find out the answer to my question.. This is all my entry for this day.

After writing on my journal I felt myself drifting off to sleep so I set aside my journal and pen on the nightstand and went to sleep..

"Ciara breakfast is ready better wake up or you'll be late for school" I was woken up by my mothers voice from downstairs calling me. I sprung up from my bed and went to our bathroom to go take a shower. I undressed and turn the shower knob on..while I was in the shower  I started singing Clean by Taylor Swift  which was a perfect tune obviously because I was in the shower..Not everyone might know but I could actually sing, I used to join pageants when I was little and my talent was always singing. I may not often receive the best in talent award  but I received comments from some of the audience after the contest saying I was really great and that I have an amazing voice. 

I finished taking a shower and turned off the shower knob. I grabbed a towel and wrapped myself in it as I went out of our bathroom and into my room. I searched through my closet for a nice outfit to wear to school..I decided to wear my ripped jeans and a white T-shirt with says Not A Lot Going On At The Moment  infront which is kinda true I don't want to look bitchy and trying too hard to impress, so I tried to look what I want people to see me as..which was to see me as who I really am...My style is sometimes Casual, Trendy or even a little Nerdy. Today I just want to look casual. I grabbed my converse that I placed under my bed before I got to bed and put it on. 

I opened the door to my room and went downstairs to our kitchen and the smell of bacon filled my nostrils that made my tummy growl..My mom turned around and said to eat up  motioning me to sit down a eat my breakfast..UGH!!! FOOD IS LIFE!!!!..I thought to myself from the second the bacon landed on my taste buds. I felt a vibration in my pocket, I reached for what it was and its my phone, I must've forgotten that I put it there before leaving my room.

I opened my phone and it turns out to be Meredith she sent me a text message that says:

Hey Ciara..are you going to school today..If you're not..You better go, I don't want to be a loner again and not have somebody to talk to..So you better be there..or else..you'll have to treat me in starbucks agaiinnn..

Love,
     The Most Beautiful Girl You'll Ever meet in your entire existence.

 I laughed at the last part, She was always so full of herself but only for me and other people that she feels comfortable with.I texted her back and replied: 

Yeah..Yeah..Whatever

With a laughing emoji at the end and she replied:

K.. See you there.

I put my phone back in my pocket "Yum!! That was a nice way to start my day..but I better get going Meredith just texted me" I told my mom standing up "K. Don't forget to come home early. And don't even try your excuses on me..Rather than that just enjoy learning" She smiled giggled at the last part "Fine" I spoke not with an annoyed tone but with a joking manner as I went to our living room and grab my bag which was on top of our couch. I don't remember placing it there, maybe my mom placed it when I was still asleep. I don't know what's happening to me I feel like I have short term memory lost or something..

Author's Note

So a little part of me is in this chapter like singing while in the shower even if I don't have a great voice like our main character.. I'm also a proud fan of TAYLOR SWIFT!! And the other characters you'll meet throughout the book..I also get short term memory lost or something like the main character Ciara..like right now I can't even remember what I'm gonna write next for the next chapter..Ugh!!! guess I'll have to try to remember it or just think of another continuation and write the next chapter tomorrow.
