SHARD (A Sci-Fi Fantasy Story)

Chapter Two

As we walked into this room where Jack led us to I was wowed to see these gadgets and gizmos everywhere like there's this wall full of weapons that feels like too advance to be equaled by the weapons here on earth and a hologram map of the stars above us.

Like is this really happening to me? Being in an actual alien headquarters is just too over whelming one day I was only an average teenage girl and now about to help aliens find a missing magical object..wow..just wow..

I was woken up from my thoughts when Kira called me to come over to where they were.

Kira's P.O.V.

After calling the girl to stop standing around and looking at our stuff. I turned to face Robbie who was sitting in front of the monitor of our hi-tech tracking system."So what is it ? Have you found the shard?" I asked him he looked at me with an unsure look on his face "Well yes and no." he stated. "What do you mean yes and no?" I looked at him with my eyebrows furrowed "Well you see the shard is in fact here on earth but.." he started typing on the keyboard "But..What?" I replied to him to continue on " It seems like something or someone found it" he placed his hands on the monitor screen and started zooming in "So the original location or where the shard landed is here" he pointed to this place called Ohio "But now its currently moving south west and still moving" he looked at me probably waiting for my command on what's our next move. I looked at Ciara who was still looking at the screen.

"You!" I said to her. She suddenly look up at stared at me in mix of shock and confusion. "Me?" she replied "Yeah..you..you live here on Earth don't you? So you're coming with us" I said to her which might seems almost like an order with my tone "I can't..Its the middle of the school year. I can't just go with you whenever I want..What would I say as an excuse to my professor? That I'm helping a bunch of aliens to find a shard to help bring back magic?" She stated as if it was very obvious. But it was not how are we supposed to know that? We're from a planet where you go to a hospital of some sort where they just put this helmet on you for like 20 minutes and all information is just inserted in your head and everytime we forget or some new knowledge is made we just go back and they make us put it the helmet on again and so on...

"Well..if you put it that way" I answered to her understanding now how humans attain knowledge. "When is this school of yours end?" I asked her "our vacation starts maybe 4 months from now" she crossed her arms and shrugging as she spoke "4 months!...we can't wait that long..can't you ask for a break for like 3 weeks or something?!" I ask her slightly turning up my tone "nope..but I can can with you on weekends after I finished my school works" she suggested "How long is this week--end?" I asked her "Uhm..its on saturdays and Sundays so two days" she answered. "Okey..you go to school you humans go to and finish all your school works by the night before Saturday.." I was stating when she interrupted me "You mean Friday night?" she raised her eyebrows "what?" I questioned "Friday night..the night before Saturday" she explained " Okey..yeah fine..whatever you call it..you must come here immediately " I finished "You just kidnapped me?" she furrowed her eyebrows at me "So?" I raised my eyebrows at her "How am I supposed to come here if I don't even know the address of this place " she demanded..I faced palmed myself..Aghh!!!! "tsk.! here.." I gave her a piece of paper "Enter this code infront of the door of #010 Villare Street Building ". "Okey..so see you guys ..I better get home my mom must've been worry about me " she spoke "Jack" I called at him and motioned my head to him to lead Ciara to the exit.I watched as Ciara and Jack left the room.

Ciara's P.O.V.

Jack led me to the door of their headquarters and opened the door for me "Thanks!" I told him for his gentle man behavior, for an alien he sure knows his etiquette. He just smiled at me "So uhm uh bye.." I said as i motioned my way out of the door waving goodbye and into the streets of New York, he waved back goodbye and close the door. I turned around and started walking until reached the bus stop. I waited for about 5 minutes for a bus but strangely or I'm just to impatient there were none.

I finally made up my mind that I'm just gonna go take a taxi ride home. Luckily I managed to get a taxi, I opened the door and went in. The drive was quite because I'm the only passenger there, so i reached for my phone in my pocket and opened it then I saw 5 message from Mom and 3 missed calls. I opened the messages and it reads:

Ciara where are you?

It getting late.

Why aren't you home?

What time are you gonna get here.

Call me once you read this.

I managed to smile as I read the messages my mom sent me by the thought that she was worried for me and that she cared for my well being. I called her and explain that I was ok and I'm riding a taxi home that I'm gonna be home in 10 minutes for dinner. She just said ok and I ended the call. I put my phone back in my pocket as I rode my way back home. I've spent the rest of the trip staring at the window as we passed the buildings of New York. The car stopped and I realized we were already infront of our house, I paid the driver and quickly made my way out of the vehicle.
