Ginger was gone. Forever. Sitting besides her grave only brought back the good old memories we shared. The fun we had, the mischief we did and the happiness we created among each other's life. Sun was about to rise. Lucy was sitting next to me. It was always me who wanted a dog as my companion. Mom hated dogs. Though, Ruby always supported me. On my 14th Birthday, Dad gave me this wonderful present. She was just a pup then. I am going to miss her.

"I think you should call up your parents" Lucy suggested me.

I had literally argued with father to stay here. What if I had listened to him and called up Aunt Mary to take Ginger. Anyways, Ginger wouldn't have listened her. A thought popped in my mind, why hasn't Aunt Mary called me yet. I was starving too. I bet Lucy might be sleepy, though she was barely awake. The cold morning air was something to remember. I called my Aunt. Her cell phone was still unreachable.

"Stop calling your Aunt. Lets go to my home. Anyways tomorrow you will be leaving."  Lucy gave me a choice I couldn't refuse. "Lets live one last day together" She added.

But something was wrong. I could feel it. It might be grief I was facing. Or something else?

"You are right, I should call my parents"

It was a straight road towards Lucy's house, with a few turns. I called mom and dad four to five times. Both were unreachable. They should have reached by now. It was better for me to go at Lucy's house and try to calm myself. Hunger was too playing its part.

A lot of people were leaving their homes. Mostly for their jobs. The morning was pleasant, but the weather seemed opposite. As we went along the road, droplets of rain started falling on our face. The little pleasant morning was starting to turn cloudy. People were running for shelter and others used their umbrellas. The little drizzle turned out into a heavy rain. The dark clouds hid the Sun within their shade. Suddenly, the bright sun shine wasn't visible at all.

We both ran for some shelter near a coffee shop. I kept my luggage bag besides me. The new family was going to arrive today after 9 a.m. It was mandatory of me to carry my luggage all the way. The shop wasn't open yet, otherwise a hot coffee would have been perfect in this weather. The road was empty, so was my cell phone's battery which was about to die.

"Lucy how would it be to race to your home in this rain?" I was so proud of my weird mind.

"No not at all" She said while wiping her wet hair.

I really needed some excitement after what all had happened the night before. I held her hand and dragged her out in the open rains. I really felt rejuvenated as the drops tumbled down my face. I again took a deep breath. My eyes closed. Just waiting for myself to calm down. As I opened my eyes, I could see Lucy straightening the muggy hair and looking at me with her angry face. I laughed out. I had never seen her this angry. It was a priceless moment.

"Really Janet? That was your idea to have jun?" She said in a displeased manner.

I couldn't control my laughter. But I ultimately did.

"Listen we are already soaked now. Lets get to my Aunt and dry ourselves." "Well she has a bath tub too" I added.

Lucy knew going home with these wet clothes, will make her mother furious. It was better for her to change the clothes.

"Does your Aunt have clothes of my size?"

"No. But I do. I have my luggage." I said with a smile. "If you don't mind wearing my clothes" I added.

She agreed. On the count of 3 we started running as fast as we could to avoid the rains. Though that was never going to happen. My bag was more soaked than me. I just hoped my clothes inside didn't. The apartment was close enough, but the heavy shower slowed us down. Finally, after a massive rush me reached the gates of my aunt's apartment.
