"Rori." My whispered name brought me out of my deep slumber. I looked over to see Axel laying beside me with a stern look on his face.

"Wh-"

"Sh!" I shut my mouth quickly but continued staring at him in confusion.

What the hell is going on?

He stayed quiet for a little longer and then quickly got out of the bed and crawled over by the door. I followed his actions and crouched next to him.

"Someone's here." He whispered. The hairs on my arms stood on end as I processed what he said.

Is someone here to save me?

I stood up, ready to bolt for the door when Axel grabbed my arm harshly and pulled me back down.

"They're not cops." He stated in a hushed tone. I stared at him in confusion.

How the hell does he know that?

"I can hear their footsteps. They're too smooth to be cops. We have to get out of here." He explained as his eyes darted around the room. He crawled over to the nightstand and grabbed a key off of it and stuffed it in his pocket before coming back over to me. "Stay close to me, understand?" I nodded as he put his hand behind his back and turned back to the door. I caught a glimpse of his hand and saw that he had a black gun with a long barrel attached to it. My heart skipped a beat and my eyes widened at the realization of what was happening.

"Ax-"

"Sh!" I clamped my mouth shut again as I stared at his back. He turned to look at me over his shoulder.

"I'm going to count to three, and then we will move." I nodded and he turned back to the door and held up his hand with one finger up.

Two fingers.

Three.

He opened the door and I followed him as he looked both ways. My breathing picked up and my heart raced. He slipped out and I moved behind him. We stealthily made our way along the building until we came to the corner. He looked around it and then started walking again. I matched his movements the best I could as we made our way through the maze of buildings. We came to one corner but when he looked around it, he quickly came back and motioned for me to stop. My heart pounded against my chest as I froze in place. He pulled his gun out in front of him and slipped it around the corner as he slowly peaked with it.

PING!

His hand jolted back the tiniest bit and I realized he had shot the gun. I took a big inhale of breath as tears gathered in my eyes. He pulled the gun back and looked over at me. He stared for a moment before motioning me to come closer to him.

"You ok? We have to move again before they find the body." He whispered. After a moment of composing myself, I nodded. He started moving again and I followed. As I came around the corner, I saw the dead body laying limply on the ground. Tears gathered again and my breath caught in my throat.

Oh my gosh...

I stared for a moment too long as I collided with a hard body. I looked up to see that I had run into Axel's back. I looked over his shoulder to see a man with a gun pointing right at us. I quickly ducked my head behind his back again.

"Hand over the girl and I won't kill you." The man spoke from behind the black metal mask.

"I'm going to have to decline that offer. You see, this girl includes a great pay day that I just can't pass up." Axel spoke coldly.
