"We just told them the year! Nothing more!' exclaimed Adam quickly when he noticed the murderous look in Ella's eyes.
"They were going to find out about the time travel eventually," added Eric with an affirming nod from Adam.
"Oh, please. Did you two even try to hide the truth?" asked Ella, clearly annoyed with her troublesome brothers. Their curiosity is what got all of them in this situation in the first place.
"Yes, but they were persistent," answered Adam. "And scary," added Eric eager to help his twin. No one should have to face Ella's wrath alone.
Ella just rolled her blue eyes, deciding to lecture them later, "Just get in the back. There is no way I'm letting you drive Mori." Adam obediently crawled into the back seat of the sports car with Ren and Kyoko. "Whoops sorry, Ky-chan" he said as he elbowed her.
"Who's Mori?" asked Kyoko once Adam was in place.
"Mori is the car. Onee-chan has the strange habit of naming inanimate objects she feels close to," answered Eric from the front seat, dodging a punch in the arm from Ella. "It's not strange!" "Yes, it is."
Ella started the shiny black sports car and headed away from LME. "Where are we going?" asked Ren slightly alarmed. He still wasn't sure they should trust these siblings. It was their fault they were here in the first place. "Our home. I figured it would be a good place for you two to hide out since Okachan and Otouchan are working late tonight and will be leaving early tomorrow," explained Ella.
Adam and Eric suddenly turned their big brown eyes to look at her. "I thought Okachan and Otouchan were going to be home early tonight." "Yeah, we were all going to eat together."
Ella shook her blonde head no. "The person we saw when we first traveled back was Otouchan, thank goodness I took off the wig or he would have been suspicious, and I asked him about tonight. Him and Okachan are going to finish up all of their work for this week early, so we can go visit Baachan and Jiichan this weekend. Also, it was supposed to be a surprise so don't tell them I told you!"
"Wait, your dad works at LME?" asked Ren, wondering if it was anyone he knew. After all, he was technically old enough to be their dad. "Yes," answered Adam, "and so does mom."
"We're entertainment brats," added Eric with a smile, "It's like being military brats, but not. Actually, LME is how they met."
"That's so sweet," said Kyoko with a dreamy look in her eye. In her mind, she envisioned a gorgeous couple whose beauty could only be rivalled by fairies.
"What's their names?" asked Ren, "We might know them from our time."
"No!" exclaimed Ella suddenly, "There is no way we are telling you that. What if you told them, and they decide to not have us?"
"Well," said Ren with a straight face, "that would solve our time travel problem." Ella shot him a dark look in the rear view mirror right as they pulled into the parking garage of the nicest apartment building in the best part of Tokyo. "We're here."
Everyone happily got out of the cramped sports car. The three siblings led their guests towards a privite elevator by Ella's parking spot. Once everyone was inside, Eric hit the top button.
"Wow," said Kyoko, "are we going to the penthouse? I've only been in a penthouse once, and the view was amazing!" Without realizing it, she started to bounce around with excitement.
"The view," said Adam, "is nothing compared to the roof top."
"The roof top is our favorite place in the city!" added Eric.
"There's a pond-"
"-with fish."
"A full garden-"
"-filled with exotic plants."
"A three tier fountain-"
"-which is home to water fairies!" At this last statement Kyoko's eyes widened, "Are...are there really fairies in your fountain?" she squealed. Now she was practically vibrating with excitement.
The twins nodded, "We've seen them."
"Oh, please," said Ella. "I've looked all over that rooftop and have never seen a fairy."
"You don't believe in fairies?" asked Ren, feeling relieved. He was starting to be worried he was the only sane person on the elevator. He was used to dealing with Kyoko's fairy obsession, but he is not sure he could handle four fairy freaks. Of course, he thought, Ella wouldn't believe in fairies. She seems to be the sensible one out of the siblings.
The elavator dinged, signalling they were on the top floor, as Ella answered, "Of course, I believe in fairies. I'm just saying I have never met any on our rooftop." "That's because you scare them, Onee-chan."
Everyone exited the elevator and entered the penthouse. The place was a lot cozier than Ren and Kyoko expected. All of the furnishings were still top quality, but they looked lived in. The couch and chairs in the sitting room looked really fluffy, and the place seemed to be filled with potted plants. "Our parents have a thing for the outdoors. The only reason we live in Tokyo is for their careers."
"Yes, you two make yourselves comfortable," said Ella motioning towards the sitting room, "while we start cooking." Kyoko started to offer to help, but Ella cut her off, "It's our fault you're in this time period, and it is the least we can do. Now sit." Kyoko obeyed.
The siblings went into the kitchen, which was to the right of the elevator and was so well stocked it could have made any chef weep with envy. Kyoko and Ren could hear Ella whispering in an angry voice to her brothers.
"Might as well see what's on tv," said Ren as he reached for the romote for the flat screen, "We might see someone we know." He turned on the tv.
"Okay," said Kyoko, "but no news channels. I don't want to ruin any surprises before they happen." Ren nodded in agreement and started flipping channels. He suddenly on what was the outdoor channel in their time.
On tv, were two people dressed in what Ren and Kyoko assumed was the latest fashion with a screen behind them that just said The Ledgends golden bubble letters. "Welcome back to The Ledgends," said the man on the left, "today we are discussing two of the biggest names in Japanese movie history."
"Yes," said his female co-host, "today we are looking at the careers of Japan's top power couple, each a fantastic actor by their own right, Tsuruga Ren and Kyoko."
