"Well I guess that makes me the biggest asshole ever doesn't it?!" Sam yelled.
"Yes it does! I'm so tired of these stupid games. Is that how you see me?! Just another girl to play around with until you get what you want?"
"I have needs Faith! Needs that you are not fulfilling."
"Yeah well do you know what I need? I need someone that won't cheat on me. Someone that I can trust. Someone that will put my needs ahead of their own! I'm done with you Sam." Faith stormed out of the room. Sam stepped in to the hallway after her.
"How do you think you're getting home?!"
"I'll find my own ride. I don't need your help because you're obviously only interested in helping yourself!"
"Whatever, your such a drama queen. Damn."
Faith walked out of the house and and started towards the street. Sam's house was nowhere near where she lived but she obviously couldn't ask Sam for a ride. She had walked about ten minutes by the time the anger started to subside and the impact of what had just happened began to sink in. She and Sam had broken up. Again. This was the third time. The first time it was because Sam was pressuring her to have sex with him and she was tired of putting up with his drinking problem. The last two times were because Faith had found out Sam had cheated on her. He said he had "needs" but Faith just wasn't ready yet. Of course she wouldn't have minded having sex with Sam at some point but every time she was finally ready Sam did something stupid to betray her trust. She felt the tears coming but they were gone when she saw Sam's red Mustang pull up next to her. She crossed her arms and pretended ignored him as he slowly crept along keeping with the pace of her walking.
"Faith."
"What!" She spat angrily.
"Come on. At least let me give you a ride home."
"Why would I get in a car with you?"
"Seriously, Faith? I'm trying to be nice."
"You should have tried to be nice by NOT CHEATING ON ME."
"Just get in the car. I'm not going to let you walk all the way home. You'd be walking for an hour!" Faith thought this over. She reasoned that he really owed her a ride since the he had just broken her heart.
"Fine." He stopped the car and she got in the passenger seat. For the rest of the ten minute ride she glared out the passenger side window. When she arrived at home she got out of the car without so much as a thank you or a goodbye. She stayed calm and collected until she made it to her bedroom where she flopped on to her bed. She lied in her bed and cried silently for an hour before she decided that she this was the last time she would let him take advantage of her. There was a usual routine to their break ups. She would find out about Sam cheating or get fed up with him pressuring her. They would fight. She would dump him and then he would woo her back with false promises and hollow "I love you's." As Faith laid in her bed evaluating the situation she realized she had become "that girl". The kind of girl that gets taken advantage of by her boyfriend then forgives him and makes up with him after he says a couple of sweet words. Faith had always been disgusted by girls like that. Now she was one of them. Well not anymore, she thought. She and Sam were done. Over. It was final this time.
The next day Faith got up for school and got a text from Sam.
"Want a ride 2 school?"
She replied quickly, "no."
She walked to school. The weather wasn't warm so she didn't really mind the ten minute walk. When she got to school her friends noticed Sam's absence immediately. Especially Kara who Faith knew was in love with him and was a little resentful they had dated in the first place. Actually, a lot of her friends were a little resentful of her and Sam's relationship.
