Frank’s POV
"You what?" Jamia asks, laughing her ass off as I try to shush her, blushing as people look our way.
"God, Jamia, please shut up. It's embarrassing enough as it is!"
"I just can't help it," she says. Her cheeks are a light shade of pink from all the laughing, and she tries to catch her breath as she goes to speak. "So, let me get this straight. He sniffed your blazer and said 'It smells good'?"
"Nice. He said it smelled nice."
She goes back to laughing, and I roll my eyes at her. I groan and stand up from the lunch table, wanting to leave her there, looking like a fool, but she grabs my hand before I can get away.
"Sit down, Frankie."
"Only if you stop laughing " I say.
"Okay, okay. But you can't blame me; it's hilarious. Especially when you blush every time you remember."
I glare at her, but she doesn't falter. "Will you help me, or not?"
She sighs, but nods nonetheless.
-
"Okay, there they are."
"I see that," Jamia chuckles, putting away her textbooks into her locker.
"So, you're just gonna go up and ask them about the blazer?" I ask her hopefully.
"Ha! No. We’re going to ask them if they have it, not just me."
"No, they'll know I was spying if I go with you," I exclaim. "Please, Jamia, it's embarrassing enough."
She sighs, and suggests, "Fine, but you have to do my homework for a week."
I scoff at her offer. "Yeah, because I totally do my own homework on a daily basis."
"True," she agrees, giggling a bit, and I do my best not to cringe. After hearing Gerard’s giggle yesterday, nothing sounds as adorable as that, not that Jamia’s giggle was adorable to begin with.
She looks over to Mikey and Pete, who were standing at the end of the hallway, but now are making their way towards us. She gasps slightly, and says, "Guess we won't have to go to them; they're coming to us." I don't miss the small smirk she gives me.
Oh, no-
"Hey, Mikey!" Jamia stops them as they pass us, dragging me by the arm along with her.
Both guys look at us as if we're lost, or crazy. Like I mentioned before, they only talk to each other. They're basically soul mates; I wouldn't be surprised if they're a thing.
Pete looks between Jamia and I, and begins to protectively wrap his arm around Mikey.
The action causes me to stare at them in shock. There is totally something more going on between.
Mikey gives Pete a reassuring look, causing him to drop his arm, and gives us a fake smile. "Hey... Jamia, right?"
She nods. "Yeah, and this is Frank." I give them a quick smile and turn my attention to the tiled floor, avoiding any eye contact whatsoever.
"Yeah, I know," Mikey says, staring me up and down, no particular look on his face.
"Why aren't you wearing uniform?" Pete asks, referring to my blue-trimmed, white t-shirt and black jeans.
I look to Jamia with a pleading look on my face, and she chuckles. "Well, you see, the thing is-"
"That was your blazer, wasn't it?" Mikey cuts her off. I look up to see that he's looking right at me, getting straight to the point.
"Um, yeah.." I scratch the back of my neck, feeling my face go pink under his intense stare, and I hope he doesn't ask how my blazer got stuck to his garage door.
"Wait, the one you found yesterday?" Pete pipes in, an amused look on his face.
"Yeah," Mikey answers.
There's an awkward silence coming on, and I'm too embarrassed to say anything else, Jamia seeming uncomfortable. I take this short time to observe the two guys, as they were doing to Jamia and I.
They’re both wearing the required uniform: gray slacks, white button up, red patterned tie, and a navy blue blazer, but they definitely don't look the same. Pete's blazer is unbuttoned, the tie hanging loosely around his neck. His eyeliner gives him an edgy look overall, whereas Mikey is the opposite. Mikey has both his blazer and white shirt under buttoned up, the tie looking like it's about ready to choke him. His fringed hair and square glasses give him a nerdy look, which fits his personality perfectly.
"If you want the blazer back, you can stop by my place after school today and get it." Mikey pulls me out of my thoughts when he says this, adding, "I assume you know where that is."
Pete and Jamia both hold back a laugh at Mikey’s teasing remark, him not even trying to hide a smirk himself. The thankful smile that was appearing on my face turned straight into a glare, watching as he and Pete began walking away.
Fucking douchebag.
Jamia turns to me with a grin, something smart about to come from her lips, but I walk in the opposite direction before she can say anything. The last thing I hear from her is a loud cackle that she finally let out, but luckily, the slam of the office doors was louder.
