Chapter 11

Mark's POV

I get back to the flat after a lovely day out with my family.

There's silence...

"DAN! GLEN! ANYONE THERE?"

There's a call from the bathroom, "MARK! Come here quick!"

I rush to find Glen holding blood covered towels.

"Mark, did Danny do this?"

I stare at him because he has a bright red mark on his face and he has obviously been crying.

"Well it wasn't me, so I guess so, but why?"

"I don't know Mark, but he's not here and I saw him earlier and he looked sad"

"Okay, but before you tell me, WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU?"

"It was Jessie, Mark, she slapped me on the face... and... look"

He showed me some burn marks on his leg.

"OMG GLEN! Did she do this to you? Why didn't you tell me?"

"She... she said she would kill Danny if I told anyone..."

"You should have told me, we could have dealt with this Glen! Wait, so where is Dan?"

"Well last time I saw him, Jessie had me pressed up against a wall and was kissing me, he walked past and I wanted to explain but he ran away with shock!"

"I really should have told you Glen..."

"W... what?"

"It's Danny, he said he loves you"

"Wow... why didn't you tell me Mark?"

"I... I thought it was for the best, but obviously not! Danny has probably been hurting himself all because of me!"

"No Mark, it's not you, it will be my fault if he's hurt... I'm the one who has been seeing Jessie and he has taken it the wrong way"

"We need to find him before he gets himself killed"

"Oh no! If something has happened to him, I will never forgive myself!"

"Where should we star Glen?"

"Knowing Danny, a pub!"

"Then lets go, we have no time to lose!"

After hours of searching we find him in a dark alleyway, in the gutter lying almost dead.

I can see Glen's face go into shock.

I ring an ambulance to come straight away.

Glen is sitting on the floor with Dan's head on his lap, tears are flooding from his tired face.

"This wouldn't have happened if I had just told you both how you feel about each other"

I look deep into Glen's teary face as I say this, well it's true, I could have stopped this from happening.

If I had just told them, then maybe they would be together and Danny wouldn't have done something like this to himself.

There's suddenly a loud noise and lots of light, the ambulance is here.

"QUICK! HE'S DYING!" I shout to the medics.

"Okay, just stay calm, we need to get him into hospital right away."

They get a stretcher out.

"Is he going to be okay?" I ask them.

"We don't know yet, he's in a bad way! What are your names?"

"I'm Mark, that's Glen and this is Danny"

"Okay Mark, thank you, could you please help Glen into the ambulance whilst we sort Danny out, he seems to have gone into shock and we need to get him checked over"

I wrap my arm around Glen, he doesn't protest because he's too shocked to notice.

I walk him into the ambulance and sit him down on a chair.

Sitting down with him, I can hear the medics talking to Dan, "Hello Danny, can you hear us? We're going to take you into hospital and sort you out, okay"

His eyes are still shut, I'm not even sure if he is still alive.
